It's ok, I was able to splice on some yarn in a different but compatible color.
Photo of the toe of a hand-knitted sock, still on the needles but very close to being finished. However, there are only about three inches of yarn left, with the last inch looking frayed because I've removed half the plies in preparation for splicing it to a new piece.
Saaaaaayyy, those are some very tall heavily-textured socks you're knitting. Be a real shame if you ran out of yarn halfway through the toe decreases.

For a few years now I've been increasingly suspicious of the way Neil Gaiman seems to be attempting to position himself as the inheritor of Terry Pratchett's legacy, so I wanted to write a little about that & why speculation about whether PTerry knew he was a creep kind of misses the point (small 🧵)

But of course you always were curious, and so—

On the left, a section of wall is open to the cement block foundation, which has lots of red tubes arranged in groups. There's a bit of a dark gap along the wall opening, which is almost certainly not hiding nefarious secrets of any kind.
And here we have a lot of pipes and tubes and wires which are allegedly going to become the heating system. Yes, there is a bit of a gap between the foundation wall and the rest of the room. You don't need to look there, it's full of insulation once you get a couple of inches past the opening.
Everything is a bit of a mess at the moment. Just ignore that part, and keep going toward the back. It's dark in there, because the electricians haven't finished installing things yet. Don't worry about it.
