Robinson's brief frmo Mick Aston, Reader in Archaelogy at Bristol University and leader of the digs, was to be the all-purpose irritatnt demanding on the behalf of viewers, explanations from the specialists. This week the Time Team have three days to unravel the secrets of Athenley in Somerset, which could hold the key to Alfred the Great's defeat of the Danes. Future programmes deal with a Roman fort in Lancashire, a man-made Island on a lake in Wales and a 13th-Century feasting all in Much Wenlock, Shropshire.
