Tbh, I hated listening to music with other people, mostly because they would end up talking. Not that I hate people talking, but I like to let myself get immersed in the music. Alone in a room with a great pair of headphones and a few new albums to explore is my kind of jam.
Say what you will about old hardware, but this one is currently outperforming my Ender 3 that is suffering from thermal runaway, despite a third hot end replacement and PID calibration. Nothing like having a "for parts/not working" tool eating space on your bench.
The DJI vacuum hack has me realizing that we have allowed our lives to become so busy, an opportunity to buy a vacuum with a cam and mic (read; lingering security concern) seems like a good idea that saves us time.

Oh, my mistake, I thought another comment mentioned an FPGA, which I toolk to mean it was one of those plug-and-play systems made to look like a SNES controller.
But yes, HDMI can be used for other things, should one be so inclined.
All the processing of the game is being handled inside the controller itself, usually by a some kind of microcontroller or FPGA. Since the HDMI handles both audio and video output (compressed or uncompressed), it's not doing anything out of the ordinary in this case.

I'm just wrapping up Authority, book 2 in the Southern Reach trilogy. It's not gripping me as much as Annihilation, the first book. The cosmic/psych horror element of book 1 sort of takes a back seat to the more conspiratorial feeling of book 2, but I'm still here for it!
We live in an age where exercising personal privacy and agency is seen as The Hard Way™ the same way living off the grid is seen as a path for nutters and paranoids.
