Had one of those walks today. I have so much respect for the process (intense criss-cross search patterns, nose into the snow, nose in the air) and have no idea what it all means but he sleeps like heβs figured out some of it when he gets home.

It is excellent. The acting is superb.
Blue Lights. Second season. We watch the last episode tomorrow night.
We are watching a series on Britbox. The episode we saw tonight took such a bad turn at the end, I shouted βNo, no, no, no!β and I absolutely terrified my dog. If I wanted proof he is emotionally connected to me, I got it tonight. Poor guy. I felt so bad.
This is a beautiful, soothing album. I have it on repeat lately.
Sad and Beautiful World by Mavis Staples (2025)
A large fluffy dog in a grey coat stands and stares at the camera. His face, coat and body are covered in snow. He is not unhappy.
Jasper left a bit of snow outside but brought most of it in.
The are the ones but Iβm sure yours will be beautiful.
Good news today about one depraved, arrogant, stupid man.
Thank you for keeping track of the important things for us, John.
A lanky, handsome 55-lb goldendoodle sits and poses for a birthday photo,
This boy is four years old today. He has come such a long way. More of a companion than a terror these days.
A fluffy gold dog in a dark grey coat looks attentively into the distance. The landscape is snow-covered with the silhouettes of trees in the distance.
From todayβs walk. Jasper is always alert to whatβs just ahead.
Good you werenβt injured! Canβt wait for spring!
A fluffy gold dog with his face covered in snow looks up towards the camera. The angle makes his nose look extra large and of course more handsome.
Snow beast.
There were others however who didnβt consider that someone two centuries later might want to read what they wrote and they just scrawled!
Iβve been tracing the history of my husbandβs family in Quebec and I really appreciate the parish priests who took not only care but also pride in writing the parish ledgers in the 18th and 19th centuries. There is some beautiful penmanship.
Itβs so well done: a perfect balance of clips and interviews with colleagues and family members. You feel the love.
Aw thanks, Caitlin! I have a few more hours to go on it. And yes, boo to snowbanks. Theyβve lost their early season charm.
My left hand holds a paintbrush beside an in-progress watercolour painting of a red-orange tulip with small mauve flowers at its base. (Artist: Kathleen Maunder)
In progress, a watercolour painting inspired by a photo I took in my first garden 30 years ago. Thereβs still snow outside but things are blooming in my studio.
Filthy rich has a whole other meaning these days.
Pure joy.
A fluffy gold-red dog is cuddled into his grey bed. His legs are outstretched.
Our 55-pound bunny.
π please someone bad for a change
Contacted my dentist to make a long overdue appointment. Felt a mix of relief and disbelief when I actually pressed send. I did it. Now to figure out a reward.
Two crabcakes on a plate with salad and broccoli stems. Fireplace in the background.
Made crabcakes tonight! Used the recipe from Stephen and Evie Colbertβs book and it was good!
This makes me so sad! She was such a bright light!
A book called Beautyland by Marie-Helene Bernino. Its cover is purple and has an illustration of a beam of light reaching up towards the title Beautyland.
Beautyland. I fell in love with its wonderfully odd and awkward main character Adina. I cried more than once while reading it which hasnβt happened in a long time. I didnβt want it to end.
Thank you for this recommendation. Iβm listening right now as I paint and itβs lovely!
A fluffy gold-red dog stands looking forward on a snowy trail. The sun shines in the distance behind snow-covered trees and has a warm and optimistic glow.
From todayβs walk with Jasper. There is light ahead. β¨
I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. Itβs dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

Kathleen's art brings me so much joy. β¨
I'm about to order some of her notecards as a birthday gift for someone. (I'm being deliberately vague because they follow me here.) π
I've already ordered two batches of cards for myself and I'll be ordering more soon. The quality is amazing. π¨
