Are you thinking of cases where someone may be trying to upload a screenshot that isn't ready to be framed yet?
For example, if I was trying to upload this image. I should be able to crop the image I am uploading so it can fit in a device.

Will be adding image detection this week to help those find the best device for the image they uploaded.
(Potentially find a way to allow users to handle scenarios where they may have cropped the screenshot in half before trying to add a frame.)
Good point, been looking into some automatic detection (so it can inform the best device) which could also be used to alert if the image uploaded may not work in any of the available devices.
(+ need to get device rotation for landscape in too)
Built a small web app over the weekend as I was needing a super simple way of framing screenshots.

Still a few things I want to add (cough Pixel 9 & 10 cough)... but figured it was worth sharing.

As I prepare for my holiday next week, a throwback to an app design back in 2021 - how time flies π²
Still a delightful UI even when reading that a high wave warning will last for 8 hours π

Actively framing the process as "building confidence" has really changed my outlook as a designer this past year.
It helps ensure that what we're working on is truly valuable and less about ticking checkboxes.
What if instead of clicking to auto-fill, you pulled a card out of your wallet and dropped it onto the page...

An unintentional opportunity of onboarding to a new networking product is reflecting on past work.
I undersell a lot of these projects (RoboKiller, Paws for Trello) but I am proud of my work on them.
<Incoming portfolio update>π
I guess the 17th of March is the new 1st of January for me.
While not exactly a resolution - it's more of a positive mindset for 2025.
I want to make the most of this year as a designer, looking back with pride at what Iβve achieved.
To be impactful with style.
Mini apps to look like colour plastic gadgets with a low res LCD screen - think early 90s.
Going to try and build this mini timer app at the weekend.
Wish me luck :P
Commentary node from Portal, when clicked these would play commentary from developers and designers.

This is neat. But I don't understand why it would generate a `<canvas>` element when 2d context is available through Houdini. It could just be a CSS background image.

Working on a set of illustrations for the ol' portfolio.
A mix between clean vectors and pixel shading.

Design for a navigation bar that collapses into a tab bar.
To save some time coding up a hamburger menu for my portfolio, I went with a much quicker tab bar approach.
Have to say I do like the results for smaller navigations like this.

Ever had a component on your website break depending on whether the web browser was open in an external monitor? π€―
That's exactly what happened to someone in my team. We had a very interesting time working out the root cause. Here's a blog post. www.joshtumath.uk/posts/2024-1...
Love CSS! πβ€οΈ
figured may as well repost it here seein' as others elsewhere are reposting the implementation as theirs π

It is yeah, but yeah feels a bit slower. Hmm will try a few things out. Thanks!
Oh yes, the second time was just in slow motion. Should have added some tag to say that.
