I love film and I get pretty dark so this is important to me, and tbf kodak’s vision 3 is genuinely pretty great at rendering all skin tones if you actually light your actors properly

like Haskell Wexler was the first studio cinematographer to actually light black skin with proper consideration and that was in fucking 1967

this was a thing for the longest time until a few directors raised a fuss and forced Kodak to consider dark skin when creating new film stocks. Godard called them out for racism in 78 and Kodak didn’t release multiracial color reference cards until 1995. its was and still is a real fucking problem

realistic lighting is a scourge on modern cinema, like light your actors a lil bit more, it doesn’t have to be absurd like an old studio film but a lil more light would be nice when most of the characters have darker skin
