This seems to me to be a recurrent problem in game design, even in games that limit PvP, because folks say they *want* competitive play experiences (or mechanics that would lead to it) but actually playing in that context is generally exhausting and unfun except for assholes, basically.
The tabletop wargaming hobby has been filling this niche for me, I think. Not without its own costs and frustrations, though.

Daylight Saving Time is fast time, an hour ahead of Standard Time. It rushes us through each day (in the hopes we spend more money), rather than enjoy our days at nature’s pace.

I do love a good table setup, however, when the play surface gets too rough (hills and craters especially) it can be really tough to stand minis up or move them around (especially the lots of small movements common to Warmachine)
The Iranian regime is properly awful, of course, but any pundit or analyst who cannot think beyond that to ask if this war is a good idea or if it has been well-planned or executed in a legal and constitutional manner or if it is wise to bring a democracy to war with zero debate is frankly a fool.
You need to understand with what desperation I'm clinging to this, because I've been in tears and excoriating myself over a repeatedly failed piece over and again since before Christmas.
