that piece of crap twitter banned my alt account because it was unauthentic while actual bots roam around with verification mark.
what the hell dude?
@specopsleo
Hi. I'm a self hosting nerd and space game lover. I'll probably replace this with something else. But for now, I'll leave it here if anyone wants to drop me a follow. I also deal with network security(Speciality in D/DoS), and hosting services.

Hey guys,
Sorry, been away for a little.
Anyways, I just downloaded entirity of wikipedia, wikihow, wikiversity(didn't know this existed!) and few others. How much? 117GB only! Wew.
Of course, thats compressed. Time to figure out how to display the same after uncompressing. All on VM.
Thanks for sharing. I actually went through this a few weeks ago but I was at companion tag.
I found a few that looks interesting. Gonna try them.
I forgot to mention I already have Uptime Kuma to monitor my home connection(TCP check) and Cloudflare tunnel to expose my internal stuff to the internet wherever needed(of course, with auth and lots of bot blocking at Cloudflare level).
I have a VM with 16GB RAM and 4vCore lying around. I currently have my arr stack and 2-3 websites hosted on it. Under normal load or average, RAM sits at about 3.9/16GB and CPU at 10-12%.
What other interesting self hosting stuff can I put on? My DNS server is on local raspberry pi so no need.
Space Engineers is basically minecraft but in space. Also unlike Minecraft where you have an objective, to kill the dragon, Space Engineers is pure sandbox.
Oh thank you. I own a few domains myself. I'll look into it. Thanks again!
A perfect example is your username! I see how it shows "jasontucker.blog" but my name says "specopsleo.bsky.social".
Can someone tell me how can you use proper name instead of the .bsky in your username?
I'm oddly addicted to Space Engineers. Grew up playing GTA SA and GTA V, well, is a continuation of GTA SA.
Lately I've been playing Star Citizen. The game is very unstable for our mainstream gamers. But when it releases, it'll be the top game in my last.
I love Tropico 6 and Cities Skyline under City Building.
Proud of the platform. I'll be glad to say that I was one of the few people who joined first.
Welcome!
When I realized so many expansions of GTA V was cancelled. Instead the toxic hole like GTA Online was prioritized for their "free DLC".
I've got to say, GTA V and their series have been the best of all games I've played but they sure as hell made some bad decision along the line.
Perfect. Just blocked them all. I want to see a community, not a hate stage.
I'm doing my part. As a guy who handles IT for my company(along with fellow mates), I make sure to install MintOS over things like Ubuntu/Windows. Try to make Linux as user-friendly as possible.
I like Sims, Starfield, and Space Engineers out of these. And sometimes Stardew Valley too.
Yea, I mean you can simply keep walking and pressing "E" and think about something else rather than be hyperfocused onto something.
Brian seems to be the best and most ideal way to do it.
Is that a good thing or bad thing?
10 euros per month, including currency conversion and everything else.
I see. Well, right now I am running off of a single Raspberry Pi 5 hooked with a terabyte of external HDD. And a external VPS with 16GB RAM, 4 vCore @ 3.1 GHz and 200GB NVMe. Also an external 1 TB HDD in the same region but from a different provider. The external node cost be approximately..-
..-a way that helps me alot. If I dont feel like doing that thing for a while, maybe its sign that I need to stop doing that as a hobby.
Well, I'm from neither writing community nor someone who do that actively. However, I deal with burnouts a bit differently.
I just let it go. If its taking too much toll, I try different hobbies. If I don't feel like doing that thing, I just don't do it. This basically acts as a barrier for me in..
Happy Friday!
It's Friday night and my back is killing me. Is my weekend ruined????
Idk. This is my first post. Lets see where we go from here. Wish me luck!
Also dropped a follow :)
Sounds awesome. Do you think its better to have a miniPC than, lets say, a dedicated server hardware to host stuff? Stuff like Jellyfin, Samba share, nextcloud, etc. Basic stuff.
The reason why I'm hesitating over server-rack solution is lack of space and most importantly, the noise from fan.
It's nice to meet you.
