Of course we in Australia managed it by mining Naru until it looked like the surface of the moon. Then that ran out and now weβre stuck like everyone else. We DO have massive quantities of methane but we also had a vicious weasel (John Howard) who sold it all for a handful of beans.
Sure it's ugly but what a dumb move from Honda, pivoting AWAY from EVs at a time like this

He has several times said that his back was against the wall and if it wasnβt for One or another government contract for Tesla or SpaceX he would be bankrupt by now β they live in perpetual fear of bankruptcy even in the midst of all their wealth
THREAD: I got laid off from NYMag/Vulture after 14 years. The family lost 75% of income + medical. Now mzs.press bookstore, once a side project. is do-or-die for Judith & I. I feel weird telling you this because others are doing much worse. But if you could like or share this, we'd be so grateful!

Maybe some genius should figure out how AI is going to get them out of this mess of their own making

For about $2.5 billion a day, we could provide a $500 per month UBI to every American β adults and kids. Poverty would be reduced by 65%. Child poverty would drop by over 80%. Extreme poverty would be essentially eliminated. Inequality would drop by about 20%.
We can do/be so much better than this.
the_thinking_great_ape You know what WON'T get stuck in the Strait of Hormuz? Sunlight and solar panels. @nickofnz
92 million people on terrain with four seasons and mountains - it is nothing like Iraq - this is a mess and they will have to back out of it within weeks, not years.
The promise of OpenAI and Grok being used in war is that no human can be held accountable for the war crimes it commits, all the way up to where it sits on the chain of command.
The total abdication of any kind of accountability, any kind of "am I following an unjust order" moral hesitation, etc.
Stick a fork in it, itβs done

Seem low if you ask me
I teach a middle schooler like Tim. Vainglorious, flamboyant, emotional, bulletproof ego, as thick as a brick. Although utterly unworthy, he will go places because of his capacity to ooze into fissures and explode a structure from within.
Advance Australia owns the media and Timβs their boy since Angus is so unelectable
Maybe somebody at CNN can explain the difference here because I donβt qwhite understand it π€

The shouting about his crimes until thy are ejected one at a time has been consistently shown to be the most disabling thing to these meetings - I like that rather than a boycott or mass walkout.
I disagree - I think they should all attend and then one at a time stand and call him a traitor, rapists, child rapist, criminal, etc. and then leave. One at a time might just give him the jolt he needs.
"More than 3,000 people attended the Mass and walked in the procession.
"Families affected by immigration enforcement were among the first to receive ashes from Cupich, in a highly symbolic reversal of the marking and tracking many say defines their daily lives."

This is exactly right. Fare-free buses are a particularly bad idea in cities with decent subway service.
From @alonlevy.bsky.social, who knows what they're talking about re: transit policy.
