β€œPossibly”

A working hack is a wonderful thing. But the vast majority of ADHDers do not need hacks. We need systems and strategies that are far more wide-ranging, tailored, and comprehensive than a kind of a β€œmanage ADHD with this one weird trick” approach.

…it is often so extremely specific and tailored to their brain that it doesn’t have a lot of meaning for anybody else.

Ex: β€œI write my to do list with a green pen on Monday, a pink pen on Wednesday, a red pen on Friday.β€œ

Really, the bigger issue I have is with the entire idea of β€œADHD hacksβ€œ ⬇️

I am once again compelled to get on my anti-ADHD-hacks soapbox:

ADHD solutions need to be custom, bespoke, exactly tailored to your brain. While on one hand, I am always thrilled to see people share whatever works for themβ€”never know, could work for somebody else! β€” I also find it irritating, bc…

I'm an ADHD coach SPECIFICALLY for women bc when I was first coming to terms with my ADHD, I felt so alienated by the books out there for ADHD adults.

They all seemed to be written by men. Invariably, it became clear that the thing this guy did to help his ADHD was get married. To an NT woman.

I’m so glad we are collectively starting to move away from the idea that debating them is effective

ADHD women, I am begging you:

πŸ‘‰Take your vulnerabilities seriously.πŸ‘ˆ

Not as "flaws" to be "fixed."

But as realities to be honored.

Really imo, this is a good approach to life for anyone!

Hey BlueSky! πŸ‘‹πŸ»

I’m a ADHD coach for late-diagnosed women.

Fun fact about me: I wish the medical profession would devote a fraction of the time it spends worrying about medication diversion and self-diagnosis, to worrying about the incalculable human cost of undiagnosed/unmanaged ADHD in women.
