Dungeon Crawler Carl book 4 is where the series loses me. The first two managed to be compelling despite the cringe writing style, kinda going sour on the third, and now I'm checking out.

god remember when they mirrored the ENTIRE twilight princess map because they had designed everything in the game for left handed link only to panic when they tried to port it from GC to Wii? i'm still mad about that

i know that savage beastfly is the fan hate-favorite, but the broodmother fight is so much worse. i do not have any fun with it. at least savage beastfly (both versions) has a large arena and can be genuine fun, but broodmother stage is just a tiny box of bs

i don't have the stamina for a separate Fields of Mistria thread, but the gameplay continues to be addictively fun with the latest update. but the storyline is just more and more of a mess, which kinda ruins the cozy immersive vibe they're going for. maybe with enough feedback they'll fix it for 1.0

upon learning they were siblings, my eldest promptly decided that phantom is the "big brother" with lace being the "little sister," as he did with hollow knight's ghost and hornet. he's very excited. prior to this we had thought that phantom may have been lace's teacher. anyway, hell of a fight!

okay i did more digging and the Phantom is nonbinary. the lore is hitting so hard. Lace and the Phantom aren't quite 1-to-1 parallels of Hornet and HK's wandering knight, but similar enough that my brain is reeling.
