The Conservative Party insists humans should go on banknotes. The British public demands banknotes be festooned with animals.
There is only one possible solution to heal a divided nation: furries on banknotes.

Never let a cybersecurity person into your home. We am VERY nosey!
'One of the departing hereditaries, the Earl of Devon, said the bill was regrettable
He said his family had been in the Lords for 900 years and complained the notice period was less than required in employment law
"I think the public will miss us," the Earl of Devon said'

Thief pilfers NFTs priced at $230,000 from Gondi A thief exploited a smart contract belonging to the Gondi NFT platform to steal 78 NFTs priced at $230,000. Perhaps the most shocking part of the theft is that the attacker managed to find NFTs still holding any value at all. Around half of the stolen NFTs were taken from a single wallet. According to Gondi, the exploiter took advantage of functionality that allowed users to sell their NFTs to automatically repay loans. Gondi has said it has reimbursed customers by buying them "comparable items" from the same collections as their stolen NFTs, although it seems questionable that this will satisfy customers who purchased products whose whole selling point is that they aren't interchangeable.

The chutzpah of it.
I've thought from the beginning that he is something out of Twin Peaks.
Why are racists so ugly.
If anyone is wondering, I will not be at RSA. And god willing I won't be at RSA next year either, nor the year after that, nor the year after that, nor the year after that, nor the year after that, nor the year after that, nor the year after that, nor the year after that, nor the year after that, no
After years of working IT support, I'm absolute convinced that people log trivial - but job-stopping - tickets as a way to avoid doing any work. "Why aren't you working?" "Oh, I'm waiting for IT get back to me about what the letter E is used for".
Listening to a very interesting China Radio International on 7.415Mhz - a hilarious breakdown of Sun Tzu, The Art of War, and what foreigners get wrong with it.
This man is my new hero.
So much bullshit around post quantum cryptography. Nice to see NIST giving reasonable guidance.
It's difficult to keep up with the horrors.
What a sight.
Every after market car body mod makes the car look worse. There are no exceptions.
"We are freeing Iran from religious fanatics".
A prayer for Trump in the White House.

Saw a thoughtful thread about AI, don't want to QT or argue. But. The biggest rage factor with LLMs is the people who, because genAI is transformative for coding, think it's transformative for everything else, because they devalue every other form of work and labor and knowledge.
Absolutely crazy footage.
I get the strong sense that the bulk of media are calling Starmer's position on Iran entirely wrongly right now. I simply don't believe that most people out there are either as hawkish as the Tories or as anti-everything as the Greens. Being conflicted in the middle seems about right to me.
This is good lawyering.
At work today we started seriously considering our exposure to US cloud providers. Staggering.

Not JUST a paper from Don Knuth about Claude and generative AI, but it mentions a forthcoming volume of The Art of Computer Programming. (!!!)
Just a reminder, as some question religious influence in UK politics. There are only two major countries in the world that guarantee clergy to hold seats in parliament. The United Kingdom and Iran. The UK automatically seats 26 Bishops in the House Of Lords.
Moving house meant I got to go to the tip a lot this week and threw many things away. On the one hand this feels good, but on the other, I always feel terribly guilty at the recycling centre; surely I don't waste this much shit. Oh.
Try and book a tyre appointment. Through the mobile app, earliest appointment is Friday; book it through the desktop app, earliest is today. So annoying.
Fun fact: video gaming as a sector is worth more to the UK economy every year than the music and film industries combined in GVA.
Maybe it's not your thing, cool, whatever, but you definitely still benefit from the fact other people enjoy it as much as they do and being a snob about it is passΓ© π€·ββοΈ
is life just a series of days where you're tired in the afternoon and wide awake at night, running behind on weekly deadlines, and seeing pants get slim and big and then slim again over the years until you die?
The brass balls of it.

Any regulator that doesn't do everything it can to burn X/xAI to the ground over Grok creating CSAM puts itself in a poor position to regulate future AI harms.
X/xAI's likely acted with reckless disregard in the model's release and certainly did so its failure to act when harms were known.
