I made a video from Synergy's Rebel Rush event where 250 players charged through the entirety of Half-Life 2 together.
It's ~6 hours of gameplay distilled into 15 minutes.

Some progress pics with references.. Made an alternate version with a cover over the interior bit which I thought could work.
Painted an H.E.V. charger- for now it's on a simple brush-based box in Hammer until I make a model. Still missing the hose and normal map, but I’m happy with how it’s coming along.

Thank you! It's a simple sphere shaped emitter with negative speed (you could also use Radial Velocity if you are using other shapes and want the same effect).
Make sure to reduce the Radius Thickness so they spawn at the edge, then tweak the lifetime so they die near the center.
Pondering the orb... I definitely need to make a crystal ball effect
