“Like I said, some people will die. When you go to war, some people will die.”
That’s what the President of the United States is saying to the American people.
He won’t be hurt by a retaliatory attack or high gas prices. But you will — and that’s a sacrifice he’s willing to make.
🤮 after the second paragraph. "Closed source company has horrible data access policies, we need a closed AI company to fix it?" Sorry I couldn't stomach reading the actual article haha
Haha there's very little to make me happy in US politics right now, but this 😁🤣
Well, gas is expensive, and food is expensive, and we’re doing a war nobody wants, but at least there are no jobs
This is a chilling crime. A shame on our country. The Iranian ship was unarmed. The US knew this. The sailors were murdered by our navy, and the survivors were left to die at sea.

New from 404 Media: Proton Mail, the privacy-focused email service, gave authorities data that let the FBI unmask an anonymous 'Stop Cop City' protester. It was payment data linked to the anonymous email account. From that, FBI ID'd them, then tracked their movements www.404media.co/proton-mail-...
A picture of The Onion in print featuring this article posted on Twitter. https://theonion.com/anyone-else-have-those-weird-dreams-where-sobbing-future-generations-beg-you-to-change-course/
Grok being wrong: The Onion does have (hilarious) print editions, but this specific "Sam Altman" piece isn't from them—or any real outlet. It's a custom meme image made to look like one, floating around since at least February. Spot on for the satire though!
Wrong again, dumbass
NOEM: Our federal detention centers are held to the highest standards in comparison to other detaining facilities
McBATH: Did you just hear me? He has to crawl through mold and feces and bodily fluids just to take a shower. This is absolute lunacy and you know it.
We already went through this shit in Iraq. You don’t fund the GOPs dumb as fuck wars. Period. This isn’t hard. www.politico.com/news/2026/03...
"Tobin said he’s in such despair that he’s offered to give up his asylum case and be deported to Mexico, but ICE has refused that request. 'The U.S. government continues to pay every day for him to be imprisoned.'” Tobin said.

This week's @runforsomething.net feel-good update: Tomorrow is Election Day and we have 23 candidates on the ballot. Have hope - the Democratic Party is changing in real-time. rfsfeelgoodupdates.substack.com/p/rfs-feel-g...
I was born in an Iranian prison. My parents were held in their jails. My uncles lie in their mass graves. Nothing you can tell me about the crimes of the Iranian regime that I haven't lived in blood and bone. That doesn't mean I want my people bombed, maimed, killed, their homes in ruins. If your vision of liberation comes only through the destruction of innocent lives, then it's not freedom you're after. Sahar Delijani, Iranian author
I am pro Iranian people. I stand with them against their own government’s repression AND against the imperial violence in the form of bombs dropped from the sky from Israel & the US who have already killed hundreds.
I support neither imperialism or dictatorship.
Sahar Delijani said it best:
I get wanting to know, but isn't it safe to assume that's just how PACs and the wealthy work? I remember how angry it made me hearing about aipac doing this, and it took a while to realize that's just them doing their job effectively (because their job has nothing to do with truth/honesty haha).
This entire episode was such a fun listen. I'm applying for the Stewart Diploma haha
I think you both missed one reason for corporate media distrust - that corporations benefit from the status quo and we can't rely on them to take alternate (sorry, lefty here haha) views seriously.
If you are in the UK, I'd like to beg 5-10 minutes of your time to file comment with the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) about the proposed (toothless) "Interoperability Commitments" from Apple and Google.
Per usual, @open-web-advocacy.org has deets:

The US can take Newsom if we can have AOC in California. Better if he just disappears, but I doubt that's gonna happen 😢
Our federal government killed a disabled genocide survivor and is covering up for a child rapist. And that is just today’s news. It is just unconscionable to be treating this as normal or acceptable in any way.

The Supreme Court's tariff decision means the government may have to pay corporations $175 BILLION in refunds.
Corporations raised prices and passed those costs off to you.
Your family likely paid $1,700 in tariff fees last year.
And corporations are getting the refund.
Scam.
A bunch of billionaires and corporations pooling their money to try to keep a popularly elected mayor's agenda in check are not exactly making the case that the city and state shouldn't tax the hell out them.
The President singled out racial minorities as the source of fraud in the United States and the first line in recaps is “he stayed focused on the economy“ lol
I'm dying! The reporter has nothing haha
people voted for him and then 10 minutes after he took office the swing voters all went “oh right, this guy’s a piece of shit”. idiot fucking country
For convenience and efficiency I am addressing absolutely everyone inclined to say anything like this to me when I mock or criticize a candidate: go fuck yourself.
I listened to this episode on a walk earlier and it was really fun!
Towards the end, he mentioned his friend Annalee Newitz, and now I'm excited because I just bought a humble bundle with 6 of her books! Literally had to double check while listening to see if it was the same name 😁
I say this as someone who loves technology but hates the tech industry - why do we have to love technology? why do we have to give something like AI clemency for its errors? It's a product we are being sold, it should have to earn our money or attention.
