NWSL SOCCER IS BACK THIS WEEK
NWSL SOCCER IS BACK THIS WEEK
Imagine missing THIS. πββοΈ
NWSL Kickoff is March 13-15.
Our SheBelieves Cup Champ π€©π Congratulations to Avery Patterson and the USWNT!
Right?!? Fun, cute, and existentially terrifying all mixed together. It's the weirdest thing in the world.
I overdosed on cocaine when I was 4.
GUESS WHO JUST BOUGHT A TICKET TO THE DASH HOME OPENER
AND PAID THE EXTRA $7 FOR THE PATTERSON POSTER
AND THE EXTRA $10 FOR THE "WALK THE PITCH" POSTGAME THING EVEN THOUGH I HAVE NO FUCKING CLUE WHAT THAT ACTUALLY IS
I love love love watching Wilson play, so this is fantastic news! I hope she's feeling healthy, happy, and hungry as she comes back.
4 teams managed to figure out how to celebrate Black people during the regular season outside of June. EVERY team figured out how to celebrate Pride outside of June in the regular season. Teams make it work if they want to make it work. Be mad at your team, not the ask to celebrate Black people.
oh no don't make James Talarico cleverly defend his theology in public what a disaster
You do not, under any circumstance, "gotta hand it to" Microsoft...
But I'll admit I'm glad they finally stopped marking deleted drafts as unread by default in Outlook. As an autistic/OCD person who cares deeply about unread notifications, this is a legitimate quality of life improvement for me.
LOL my first thought as well :p
What could possibly go wrong with this
Be careful; if you touch grass twice in a 24-hour period you can get your Poasting license revoked.
Good primer as we get close to kickoff!!!
First off, THANK YOU for covering women's sports, and for this writeup!
Second, DAMN that Houston blurb is harsh lol. The sadness factory is closing down, we promise :p
Things you absolutely LOVE to see:
I think about this Tony Benn speech much more than I used to
Why would anything Trump does be "a distraction from Epstein"? What consequences was he in fact facing or at risk of facing? The guy just wanted to blow up Muslims.
I just get so tired of people yelling βthis is all a distraction!β No, itβs not. This is not 4D chess. This is just a very dumb man with a team of evil people fighting for a chance at his ear
Post a pic you took, no context, to bring some Zen to the feed.
Thanks a lot RFK for ruining Black's for me forever.
The Houston one is the old Houston Chronicle building. I don't know if I'd go so far as calling it iconic, but it's a pretty famous historic building in the area, and the namesake of this particular kit.
Whether it actually looks cool is up to each person haha. I think it's pretty neat!
Probably the most underrated meat I'm aware of...now I want carnitas dangit!
My 7yo drew me a picture of an anthropomorphic cup of coffee last night. Then told me I was "pretty rad, for a dad."
Yeah, I think I'm cool with my choice to have kids :)
Since today is apparently a "John posts hot takes" kind of day, here's another one:
Brutalism is a really cool aesthetic and should be more appreciated.
If you really can't stomach that concept, you're probably a bad person. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but this is literally something I teach my kindergartener, and full-grown adults not being able to handle it is frankly pretty embarrassing.
So at the risk of coming across condescendingly, I'm going to tell yall what I tell my kids:
Sometimes, we apologize not because we think we did something wrong, but because we care about other people and want them to know we're sad that they're sad, and that we wish it hadn't happened.
Seeing people act like it's crazy to apologize for things done unintentionally (man, that phrase is sucking up my character counts in these skeets!) is absolutely wild. Like, what the hell do yall's personal relationships look like if you act this way in real life?!?
My meltdowns aren't my fault! It's just a result of my disability! And I NEVER apologize for being autistic. But I do apologize for harm done through no intention of my own. I think it's right that he do that as well.
But at the same time I think he should be able to apologize for harm done, even when it's not his fault. I say this as someone with autism, who periodically hurts people unintentionally as a result of my condition. When I have a meltdown, or say something unintentionally rude, I apologize.
