TerraPower had received a construction permit to build their Natrium reactor in WY! While they aren't the first advanced reactor to begin construction, they are first to get the green light on building a commercial reactor, not a demo or test facility.

My best guess is that they got information of the remaining U stockpiles and enrichment and somebody did some back of envelope math on “how quickly could those feedstocks become a SQ of HEU?” Somebody wrote “2 weeks!” And here we are.
Reader: having SQ of HEU does not mean you have a nuclear bomb.

“Detonation” would technically include a test. DPRK probably decent odds of testing another nuke in the next year or two.
I honestly just realized that a nuclear weapon test would most likely qualify as “a nuclear weapon detonation” for the purposes of resolving these bets.
Would a low yield test count? Another DPRK test? Are they relying on CTBTO data to determine the “winner”.
These odds are too low. Unreal times.

Wasn’t expecting that, but I’m also not surprised. They may need to step up tritium production then.
So, in launching a huge bombing campaign on Iran they apparently didn't plan for:
- Who takes over;
- Interceptor shortages from sustained drone retaliation;
- How to defend US bases in the region;
- Threats to ships in the Strait of Hormuz; and
- How to evacuate Americans with airspace closed.
The “West” shortchanging Ukraine on interceptor systems led to a lot of unnecessary loss of life and infrastructure damage. It also made Ukraine find innovative ways to survive without relying on expensive western tech.
Surprised if Russia doesn’t start giving them Russia-built Shaheed clones just to deplete expensive interceptor stocks.
Ukraine should have prepared them (U.S. and Israel) but they didn’t think they had anything to learn.
