My dad was an OG raver, a regular at Heaven in the late 80s/early 90s. He’ll love this :)

You’ve always got a place to sleep with us x
Battlefield is another local neighbourhood name, fuckin badass.
*Crossmyloof. Imagine saying you live in Crossmyloof (old term for “cross my heart” for non-Scots)
We’ve started to tentatively look at houses cos we’re thinking of moving so I was showing her the patch of 70s-era detached houses in crosslyloof I’ve kind of got my heart set on now.
I saw some cows?
Went for a big walk and chat with a pal, our route taking us through two parks (Queens and Pollok). Lovely :)
I’m not gonna celebrate the murder of a violent sex offender by another violent sex offender. Thoughts instead with the families of Holly and Jessica, this will be bringing up a lot of trauma and horrible memories for them.
Mainstream media picking up on this now and look who's on the case! He's finished...
ian huntley is dead. i'll always remember how the british press attempted to incite hatred against the trans community by reporting he was transitioning, then apologised to him for incorrect reporting instead of apologising to trans people
And when it comes to assault of children they are wayyyyy more animated by getting really violently angry about “nonces” than they are thinking about the victims.
Just underlined to me that actually, at the end of the day, most people couldn’t give a shit about victims of SV whether they be children or adults.
It’s absolutely that, isn’t it? When Ian Watkins was murdered I found it really distasteful how ppl wanted to celebrate the convicted rapist that killed him. “Ah he only raped adult women, so it doesn’t matter does it?” 🙄
his killer being a man who murdered three people including a pregnant woman who he also raped is a perfect demonstration of how ‘paedophile hunters’ are just violent men looking for a socially acceptable target for their violence
Yeah I remember people saying the guys that killed Ian Watkins should get a medal, then it turned out one of them had kidnapped and repeatedly raped a woman. Like, let’s not be so hasty, there’s a lot of evil men in that place???
Actually got a mad Abigail’s Party style dress from Joanie (RIP), so I think I’ll be wearing that too!
Going to a 70s-themed girls night in soon where we all need to contribute a dish, and decided to do a trifle. Austin’s telling me about his French ex who was so obsessed with trifle his mum would get one in for her whenever she visited.
perhaps this website attracts 38 year olds because its no problem for us to post on a forum where all the mods are huge pieces of shit that everybody hates
Yeah, my mum would make us a chicken and rice broth when we were unwell and as an adult I can’t recreate her recipe despite my best efforts, but cup noodles with a bit of extra seasoning and chilli oil is the closest thing I’ve found to the same comforting feeling!
Quitting GPEW in March 2026
Also pretty sure they’ll carry on honking those hypnoboobs regardless, cos if they are one thing they are fucking arrogant.
Pouring one out for the aggro centrist dads who have one less stick to hit the “rarrrr Polanski is anti-woman!!1!” button with, as they conveniently ignore really scary misogyny from Reform (and also never have anything to say about misogyny any other time). Just got hypnoboobs now :(
They* are calling this the most prescient** post of all time
* Nobody
** Actually extremely obvious if you think about it

London Scots!!!
Map of the Glasgow subway showing that it is in fact a single circle
somebody just stuck their head into the subway carriage and asked where this train was going, which caused some bafflement
Bloody Londoners!!!!!
"I dread even saying this... but I think that we've ended up in the wrong place on trans, and we've done that by treading very self-consciously and not actually following our hearts, which is that trans people are on the margins, they are vulnerable. "If the Labour Party doesn't look after trans people, what are we about? "They're most likely to get beaten up. They're the ones who are most likely to have prejudice against them. We should not be indulging in anything that marginalises them even more."
Emily Thornberry’s words on Radio 4 in response to the Green win in Gorton and Denton.
This is why wins like this are so important, whatever you may think of the Greens (much like the immigration rebellion brewing).
Slightly tangental but the "lanyard" designation is utterly meaningless analytically. If you're cleaning a public building you'll have to wear a lanyard. Local authority worker in the community? Lanyard. Work in a hospital? You better believe you're wearing a lanyard. School? Lanyard.
