New research demonstrates that waves breaking near shorelines release large amounts of sea spray aerosols—boosting both cloud-seeding particle numbers and airborne particulate mass.

By definition, numerical weather models require international data. The atmosphere knows no geopolitical boundaries: any model that begins and ends at its country’s border is unable to generate reliable predictions until after a weather system crosses its boundaries. Which defeats the purpose!

19 years after I attended the European Course on Atmospheres (ERCA), from which I have many good memories, I'm back in Grenoble🇫🇷 now as a teacher 👴 at the new ERCA course (now only 2 instead of 5 weeks). Very excited to be here!
