Proud to have contributed to this new book about #bioaerosols π¦ "Biological Highways in the Sky". In chapter 7, we present a summary on the "Release of primary biological aerosol particles from surface waters". Check it out (it's open access!) ππΌ www.quae-open.com/product/346/...
The photo shows sea spray aerosol generation along the Azores coastline.
New research demonstrates that waves breaking near shorelines release large amounts of sea spray aerosolsβboosting both cloud-seeding particle numbers and airborne particulate mass.

NASAβs iconic Goddard Institute for Space Studiesβhome to Jim Hansen and hundreds more scientists, creator of the GISS model and keeper of the global temperature recordβhas been evicted from its longstanding NYC office above the βSeinfeldβ restaurant.
Why? The government told them to move out.
#MeetOurScientists: With the help of a cloud sampler, Aiden JΓΆnsson is able to investigate the particles inside the clouds. Important to better understand aerosols and their interactions with clouds - and how future climate and weather will impact our lives.
New @catchscience.bsky.social paper out in @faradaydiscussions.rsc.org highlighting some of the key open questions in cold-region atmospheric science. Check it out! ππ»ββοΈ @bolincentre.bsky.social

If you have the chance to join a @faradaydiscussions.rsc.org conference, do it! It's an excellent event, where submitted papers are discussed lively and in detail by renowned scientists. I loved it and learned a lot!
By definition, numerical weather models require international data. The atmosphere knows no geopolitical boundaries: any model that begins and ends at its countryβs border is unable to generate reliable predictions until after a weather system crosses its boundaries. Which defeats the purpose!

Good article. A small thing almost everybody can do, is to get a newspaper subscription. We need good, diverse and paid journalists, who do their job!
Excellent. More than 60 of the largest German and Austrian Universities are leaving X/Twitter due to the lack "cosmopolitanism, scientific integrity, transparency and democratic discourse" on this platform. Press release (in german): idw-online.de/de/news845520 #WissXit
I didnβt include YouTube in this comparison because it isnβt a text-based social media platformβ¦ but I happened to notice today that it has limited access to my video about wildfire myths and facts.
