According to the military aviation news website @alert5.com on its Facebook page, the Philippine Air Force has inquired about the Swedish aerospace company SAAB regarding its AWACS platform, which it reported to be the GlobalEye AEW aircraft.

We will see a total of eight ( 8 ) Teresa Magbanua-class MRRVs should the Senate's additional budget proposal push through, giving added impetus to the Philippine Coast Guard's Maritime Domain Awareness in the West Philippine Sea.

The eighty-seven (87) meter vessels will likely be the design Austal presents for the Philippine Coast Guard's own requirements, one of which will be produced locally in Cebu as part of the Self-Reliance Defense Posture (SRDP) push from the national government.

The single 97-meter Multirole Response Vessel will likely be the additional Teresa Magbanua-class MRRV, a separate project from the five (5) vessels already ordered under the Official Development Assistance financing scheme of the Japan International Cooperation Agency, or JICA.

Regarding the PCG's 2026 Capital Outlay proposals, the following projects provide an idea of how the new builds will go.

What's interesting is that the Senate's version now includes two (2) important assets worth discussing: a single 97-meter MRRV, and three (3) 87-meter OPVs.

According to a South Korean report, the ships that will likely come with the Frigate Acquisition Project - Full Complement of the Philippine Navy are, after all, the HDF-3200 frigate design that the Miguel Malvar-class guided missile frigates are based on.
