Rebecca Ferguson (Mission Impossible actress)
@rebeccaferguson.com

This is actress Rebecca Ferguson, the real one and not a scam. Accept my private message request.

why on earth would you message me if you were real

I need you to watch my movies.

the scam is just messaging individual people to watch rebecca ferguson movies?

I have been a fan of yours ever since I read a post about how you sneezed so hard the yellow acorn flew off your penis shaft.
In Dune 2 I played the powerful mother of a thin desert boy.

Skill issue. If you post good, the right people will figure out how to get in touch with you.

Was a computer programmer as a student and helped a big company produce a hugely successful ZX Spectrum game - for a laugh managed to put a pixelated cock in one of the backgrounds and it has NEVER been noticed.

I remember marveling at changing this blob pixel shader (tens of thousands drawn each frame) from rendering the blob texture to rendering it with maths and it sped things up.

GPUs are fast. Accessing memory is slow.

Oh and I admit it when I'm copying stuff out of stack overflow.

I'm still bitter my first submission failure was for doing no profanity checks on my 3 letter high score names. Growing up some of the most creative moments as a player was coming up with ways of swearing in 3 letters.

This was written at 3am in 5 minutes.

It even caught BUM and rejected it.

I pulled up 60,000 lines of code for Bezier during my Epic interviews. "This is me. The good and the bad. Name a system and let's go take a look at it."

(this Main.cpp is the tidy bit haha)

Most game programmers I know have bounced around back and forth between the two.

AAA == Indies. And code is code.

Return To Genesis was the first smooth side scrolling game on the AtariST, but 2 weeks before it shipped, my dad got a demo through the post that did the same (albeit less bit planes), so he never wanted the credit.

Silly as it was 88, with no internet, so neither coder would've seen the other etc.

One thing I found quietly heartwarming was the two-way admiration between games programmers & demosceners.

Gamedevs in awe of the sheer wizardry with limited hardware.

Demosceners, seemed to understand that a game is more than a trick or a flourish, it’s relentless work, and respected that graft.

my initial reaction was to roll my eyes because green cross always means dispensary around here but then I realized this was europe and this is probably part of a jobs program for retired demosceners

What an Xbox founder thinks of the new Xbox CEO | Seamus Blackley interview Seamus Blackley was one of the renegades who got the Xbox started. We asked him what he thinks of the big executive changes at Xbox.

"Xbox, like a lot of businesses that aren’t the core AI business, is being sunsetted. They don’t say that, but that’s what’s happening. I expect that the new CEO, Asha Sharma, her job is going to be as a palliative care doctor who slides Xbox gently into the night."

This is exactly what marketing yourself on social media feels like, actually.

When my dad passed in 2019 Phil was the only C-Suite voice to send out condolences. He played dad's stuff on the Atari ST growing up.

Always had a soft spot for him after that. And the fact we're both cursed with the same forename.

Interesting for coders. And Matt is always a treasure to listen to for all things programming.

It's been an eye-opener this year joining Epic where I've had to quickly pick up parts of C++ I've never used before. Confused at first, but after a few laps, wondering how I ever survived without it.

saw a reddit comment on the lenghth of modern dev cycles earlier that stuck with me:

"The PS2 had three Grand Theft Autos, GTA5 had three Playstations"

And then just to insult me VS2005 brought it back. But the damage was done. I couldn’t claw back even when I tried.

One of the reason I’ve become a 10X addict is it sort of looks like a successor to Brief.

I was the Brief king. My producer had to spray my hands with water through fear my typing would start a fire.

Then that awful version of VS (2002?) came out and got rid of the Brief key setup and I had to learn to type β€œproper”.

It took me 3 years.
