Agree. Some SEOs might think it impacts organic search rankings (not sure why?) but none that I know. For me, llms.txt is more about creating a token-light means for agents to find and retrieve token-optimized .md files rather than download all the CSS, JS, images, etc that accompanies HTML.
Oh I get why Agents/Assistants would prefer llms/md due to reducing token weight of content, but the Perplexity site published their own. To Alan's point, maybe some eager developer just launched it.
