"Sometimes"
Sometimes a poem just falls out of my head unbidden, and it feels less like something I wrote and more like something I found.
This fractal design has three D20 elements superimposed into the center of three different hexagonal vorticies, as though the rolling dice created a strange tornado around it. The dice and their corresponding vorticies all descend in a sweeping arc from the upper left corner, giving the impression of a broad dice rolling motion. The fractal elements shine in electric blues and oranges, with frosty blue storm clouds in the background. It feels energetic and powerful, like watching God roll dice in a thunderstorm.

Every player hesitates: thief delays, bard contemplates. Ranger's blade? A turn too late. Cleric, nervous, playing bait. Feral drakes aren't gonna wait! The team's at stake, so will you break? Big mistake or bold escape? Take and shake and roll your fate.

It took me 8 days to finish this project. I'm so happy with how it turned out. The back is almost as pretty as the front.

This fractal design features a spiral of abstract flower shapes, like christmas lights on a strand. The flowers are outlined with a zing of bright pink, fiery energy, but the res of the composition is shades of gray. It evokes the feeling of lanterns on a summer night, or cherry blossoms blowing in the wind.

A first person perspective photo of an extended arm holding three magazines in hand. The magazine is titled "Fwiz", this is Issue #1. Text on the cover reads "Inside: The secret joy of infinite detail", "Collectable holographic artist trading card included!" and "A magazine of Fractals, Poetry & Recreational Wizardry". The cover image is a cloudy fractal design in soft blues and teals, with warm highlights shining through the clouds.
An interior shot of Fwiz Magazine. Three fractal designs decorate the space around a few columns of text. The text on the left introduces the magazine, fractal art, and defines a fractal wizard. The text on the right is partially cropped off, and it introduces the reader to a kind of "magic" involving the transmutation of curiosity into feelings like wonder, joy, awe, and passion. The rest of the issue explores that idea. (Full transcription available on request.)

This image is a poem titled "Fuzzslug" by Yamen O'Donnell, who goes by Complicated Reality, and it was written in 2022. The poem reads: I took a trip to the forest where I met the fuzzslug got a body like a snail, with fur like a rug not big enough to ride, but they're big enough to hug. I found him munching on mushrooms and shrubs. I step up slowly, eye stalks start tracking. "I'm sorry, fuzzslug, if I stopped your snacking. I'm a wayward soul, and I'm trying to find a way yo freshen up this moldy mind." Fuzz starts to buzz, slug starts to slither in the swishing of the fur, I start to hear a whisper "It's not where you're going, it's not where you're from, it's not what you plan, it's not what you've done. It's the slice in between, that's all that you've got because life is a dream whether you like it or not." In a puff of smoke and a slow-mo flash fuzzslug lit up into a pile of ash. I watched it drift up and to my surprise the vapor rearranged into starry skies. Amazed by constellations for a couple of hours, then I laid my head to rest in a bundle of flowers, woke up under covers, on my bed, in my room. Thanks, Fuzzslug, I'll be back again soon.
