The upcoming election is a good reminder that we published a policy paper to outline our vision for the Australian video games industry back in November.
Heading: Raising the Game. How government can help the industry reach its full potential. Drive industry development through ongoing investment and trade 1. Build on the momentum for industry development, enabled via the DGTO. 2. Implement a fair tax system that encourages investment, rather than hinders. 3. Enhance opportunities in digital trade and exports. 4. Create opportunities for serious games in government. Boost talent pipeline for a sustainable industry 5. Immediately close the talent gap. 6. Build a sustainable talent pipeline. Implement well-informed and designed regulation 7. Good public policy design and best practice regulation. 8. A modern classification scheme for video games. 9. Support and promote online safety in video games. 10. Constructive and consultative approach to intellectual property. IGEA logo.
Last November IGEA published a paper to outline our vision for the Australian video games industry and how the government can help industry reach its full potential.
With the Federal Election in May, now is the perfect time to revisit our recommendations.

We are devastated to hear that the local Ubisoft developers have been impacted by recent layoffs.
They are a wonderful and talented bunch of creators. We have obtained permission to share a list of developers affected.
If you can help please contact them directly: docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

My mother-in-law recently went to Japan and bought me a little model car of my Toyota Crown Super Deluxe/Toyota Comfort. (And yes, my daily driver is a Japanese taxi...) #jdm
