Don't feel like I'm in a great position to comment on the male behaviour aspect but musically it is dog meat. Oh, isn't it amazing it was written in a week or whatever. Yeah, I can tell. Surprised it took that long.

Worth pointing out that Polymarket doesn't reflect the chances of something happening, it reflects what people who have placed bets think the chances are of something happening.

Betting on nuclear war: what are prediction markets and could they come to the UK? The lowdown on Polymarket and Kalshi, the pitfalls and the odds on US-style exchanges taking off in Britain

In which i endeavour to explain that, despite the hype around prediction markets, they aren't a big thing in the UK and maybe never will be. More people bet on Championship football games than strikes on Iran. Almost certainly by a distance.

Reform fury as someone else wins
by Our By-election Editor
Tim Shipsink
The losing candidate in the Gorton and Denton by-election, Matt Goodwhinge, has demanded an immediate re-run of the election on the grounds that he lost
comprehensively to someone else.
"It's totally unfair and rigged,"
said Goodwhinge.
"I shouldn't
be required to sit there and suck it up, just because I lost."
Mr Goodwhine continued, *I can't believe that all those voters I demonised failed to back me.
Especially after I was endorsed by Tommy Robinson and ten million Russian bots on X.
"We have clear evidence of family voting, where people voted in order for me to stop deporting their families."
Mr Badloser concluded. "I'm the victim of colour prejudice.
They didn't vote for me simply because I'm not green."
Reform leader
Mr Farage,
speaking from a sun lounger on a rock near the Chagos Islands said,
"It's a tragedy that the people of Manchester won't see Matt in Westminster, but my constituents don't see me in Clacton either."

Beautiful from Private Eye on the massive toddler-tantrum that Matt Goodwin and Reform are having, because they got whooped in Gorton and Denton.

So much will be said about all this in the coming days, but IMO the biggest takeaway is that James Watt and Martin Dickie each pocketed more than the price BrewDog was eventually sold for, while 500 hardworking staff are now out of a job & 220k equity punks don't get a dime.

Absolute charlatans.

Tired: BrewDog has betrayed its punk roots by accepting private-equity cash
Wired: BrewDog's "punk" schtick was always an expedient marketing sham
Inspired: BrewDog incinerated billions of dollars of implied value and made global capital interests look stupid, finally fulfilling its punk mission

BrewDog bought by US cannabis and drinks firm for Β£33m, costing nearly 500 jobs Many early-stage crowdfunders left empty-handed as Tilray acquires beer company’s UK and Irish assets

Confirmation that BrewDog is being sold to US cannabis/drinks firm Tilray.

"Equity Punks" will get no return on their investment and 484 staff will lose their jobs.

Β£33m compared to a once-touted (albeit unrealistic) Β£2bn float.

US and Oz assets still being negotiated.

St Totteringham's Day: Arsenal set to celebrate earlier than ever The day it becomes impossible for Spurs to finish above Arsenal in the Premier League, St Totteringham's Day is set to arrive earlier than ever.

There are two bylines on this lame tabloid clickbait and one of them is billed as a "statistician".
