This article is well worth your time, getting at some aspects of the mutual aid going on here that we can't talk about all that much.
Crimes against humanity are being perpetrated on Minnesota by the federal government. People are stepping up & doing amazing things, but JFC this is horrific.
something of note, I think implied here, is that these groups are primarily organized and run by women. The "tactics" above are the way we multi-task and get things done. Girls' night outing? Winter cabin ladies' trip? We've got message threads and .docs for that.
Weβre at the βAnne Frank in the Atticβ stage now, in case anyone was wondering.
MN resident here. EVERY woman I know is doing something to make a difference. Every suburb is being affected. Anyone can be a target of ICE. They follow those dropping off items at food shelves, hang out at school bus stops & try to intimidate mutual aid efforts but we just keep signing up to help.
also key for those not in the Twin Cities - not just ALL (elementary) schools but middle schools & high schools too. Most of MN's suburban & out state areas have large immigrant populations. Many immigrants with legal status are being ripped from their families, workplaces, and lives here.

The word βunthinkableβ in the original post needs to be replaced with βpreventable.β
I follow families, like mine, with children with disabilities & am witnessing their "confusion". They voted for him, but through some magical thinking, didn't believe that his discriminatory actions would affect them... and now they are crying "but inclusion is different! This is MY child."
I canβt wait to see Kid Rock in one of them rainbow ribbon thingeys.
Itβs very easy to tell them how shameful it is to pull up the ladder on those who fought beside you for your place.
a small handwritten note on lined paper asking "wanna hold hands at the end of the day. Yes or no." The handwriting is messy, yes and no are written in a block, like a choice.

another day in paradise πΆ
I keep thinking about this quote, its originator, and how this calendar page came together
do they seem silly or is this a non-silly goose gathering?
Like "life"?
SUCH a good game. My whole family played and my dad copied the map for each of us to draw our own explorations. I wish they would explore how to bring it to life again somehow, although some things are great just as they are!
I believe we still have our copy of Jenny of the Prairie for the Apple IIc, and the original Apple IIc to play it! My favorite playable female protagonist at the time was the young girl, Pomma, from Below the Root, which we also still have!
