Great organization. Great future Councilmember for Ward 1.
Basic concessions Democrats in Congress should demand in any government funding deal:
1οΈβ£ Keep Border Patrol at the border
2οΈβ£ Unmask all federal agents
3οΈβ£ End the federal occupation of Minneapolis and all cities
4οΈβ£ A moratorium on detaining immigrants without criminal records
These incidents arenβt accidental excesses. They ARE the plan.
Itβs a dark & dangerous time for our country. This week my boss issued a report calling for ending DC police coordination w/ICE and strengthening DC laws protecting immigrants. Iβm incredibly grateful to work for & with people w/integrity, vision & courage to do something.

I napped on the couch long enough that I can now go to bed without being embarrassed by how early it is.
Rashidaβs going to be great in this role.
Feeling pretty good about the blanket coverage we got yesterday. First out with the narrative, great visuals. And all accurate!
Bought hook, line, and sinker.
Wisdom from my colleague
Immigrants and advocates tell me that MPD's growing cooperation with ICE on immigration enforcement in D.C. has made them fearful to call local police if they witness a crime or are victims of one. Trust that MPD built up over years may have been demolished in recent weeks: 51st.news/ice-presence...
Here's what the third day of elementary school looked like in Mount Pleasant, Washington DC.

Would not have to cut one dime if we just let the tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires expire.

Me choosing the shaded parking spot for my bike so I donβt come back to an area overheated bike.
I think it comes down to whoβs trying to incentivize what. Local govt should encourage transit & discourage cars. A private business wants to incentivize selling its goods. Theyβve made a calc that free pkg does that. I suppose the city could tax garages at a higher rate to change the equation?

Itβs true, unfortunately.
Whereβs our data Elon? #easternmarketdc

Ward 1 always turns out! Letβs do it again. And a shout out to Georgia Ave Thrive and an informal group of neighbors near 10th organized by Meg for your cleanups this past weekend. Letβs make Sat April 26 a day of many cleanups! brianneknadeau.com/host-an-eart...

Someone needs to update this graphic.
One of these men is serious. The other is not. They should all be talking about one thing only right now.

How about now, ADL?
Me too!
Huh.
Councilmembers walking down steps of Wilson building
Iβm on my way to the Capitol right now with other councilmembers to ask House GOP to fix their mistake in the CR that would cut $1b from DCβs budget β DC's own money! It would cut police, fire, teachers & more. That does not make DC safer, cleaner, or better!
Street sign on pole reads βBlack Lives Matter.β Yellow church with steeple in the background.
Street with Brock and yellow painted letters. Hard to read them but they say Black Lives Matter.
Last day for the plaza. #BlackLivesMatter
