I'm pretty sure Gukesh and Ding played a tournament last month!

@danielkingchess.bsky.social Enjoyed your 'immortal' in the train home youtu.be/suYyY-tIaMY?.... Was wondering if after Qxe4! dxe4 Ng6! black could get away with ...Qxd2+ (with the idea that Kxd2 Bxb4+! followed by ...fxg6 saves) before realizing the cool Kf1!! just wins. My commiserations! :)
Another great interview of Sagar, where he takes Ding Liren through the critical moments of the #DingGukesh match. Some great insights! youtu.be/2_in_4AY_Lk?...
Sesse's (analysis.sesse.net) current evaluation shows that engines are so far ahead of humans that their evaluations are completely irrelevant to what is happening on the board. Ding is currently under huge pressure despite the mere '0.13' evaluation. #DingGukesh
Nothing about this match is predictable! Superb game by Ding. #DingGukesh
The 'slow' games 4 & 5 were a bit worrying to me, but the match is certainly heating up in a great way now. #DingGukesh
This camera angle really achieves its full potential with rooks on e8 and d8.
Click on 'alt' for the solution.
White: King h6, Queen g6, Pawn g5. Black: King h8, Rooks on f7 and f5. 1...Rxg5! is strong, as 2.Qxg5 Rh7+ 3.Kg6 Rg7+ or 2.Kxg5 Rg7 draws on the spot. The game ended with 2.Qxf7 Rg6+ 3.Kxg6 stalemate, as 3.Kh5 Rg5+ 4.Kh4 Rg4+ doesn't allow the white king to escape.
Was fortunate not to lose my Bundesliga game today. In the position below the worst was already behind me. Do you see the elegant way to force a draw? #chess
I really like this puzzle. White to play and win #chesspunks #chess
Not a given, but if Ding will start pushing his pawns on the queenside it seems likely. Let's see :)
Fun fact! #DingGukesh
