Comparison of funding with prior years does not seem appropriate without consideration that grants funded at Feb council would have been reviewed in oct/nov. This year most grants in this cycle were reviewed three to four months later (Jan/Feb). Things are bad enough let’s not over exaggerate.

The Who’s studio albums, Tommy and Who’s Next, are superb but their “Live at Leeds” album is an underrecognized gem. point being The Who’s studio and live performance present totally different bands. Love them both!

Because of the shutdown, October grants were reviewed in Jan/Feb. Feb grants appear to be moved to Mar/Apr. hopefully things will be back on track for the June reviews. Standing study sections can’t meet without a quorum of standing members. Reviewer limitations are likely driving date change.

last time I looked I was surprised to see that some May council standing study sections that I expected to have February meetings were scheduled for April.

I beg to differ because I have done review for CSR and an IC. The review rigor at the IC is significantly less than at CSR. The well-funded investigators at the IC are advantaged. an example, program project review must include reviewers that had a program project. So it was one big circle jerk.
