I've said it in another post when i still didn't know about the case, it is weird to not cite your influences/references. but that does not necessarily equal plagiarism, and does not need to lead to such reaction

granted, i don't know how it is in other countries, but this kind of public exposure feels weird to me, especially with lack of a good amount of substantial proof. seems like something that could be discussed in private

yes, I've seen more than a few cases (in academia) of blatant copy+pasting of whole paragraphs, and in all of them the authors preferred to talk in private to the people in question and it was resolved quietly because of the seriousness of it. an (ex) colleague lost his titles for example

MB always seemed nice to me, but if there was already a beef before that i can see how that can easily lead to distorted interpretations, sadly. the evidence in the post does not look like enough, especially to "cancel" someone :/
