Also. A few years ago the hiring was such that the tables were turned. It’s great when the supply / demand curve works on your behalf, but it’s also no fun (for old or new folks) when it flips.
It’s tough in any industry where you need to trust a person for a team to work. And smaller teams have more on each person to do. If you’ve worked with a person who delivers successfully before, you are likely to value that over the unknown - if you can make the finances work.

Yeah. Wanting a job when tens of thousands of people who have past experience are also looking has to be extremely frustrating. Im hoping the optimism of the first group becomes real. That’s the unknown there.
I expect there are even more “GDC’s” going on, but those two I have been fortunate to be exposed to as well as the biz dev GDC, for as long as I can remember. Maybe since 2000?
I suspect it is too much to expect them to be any different this year.
