Flights of Foundry Program Lead On the one hand, it’s really fun to say Flights of Foundry is planned by 2.5 humans and a robot. On the other hand, there’s a lot more we could be doing to make Flights even better if there were more humans in the mix. If you’d like to be the person in charge of wrangling the program (you won’t be working alone) then we’d like to talk to you. There is a stipend available with this position, though compensation is not commensurate to the work and it is a volunteer role.

Flights of Foundry Sponsorship Getter We’ve really outgrown the platform we’re using for Flights of Foundry. At the same time, with round-the-clock, international attendance, our needs are a bit idiosyncratic. Replacement platforms are expensive. The regular Flights budget is extremely unlikely to ever support an upgrade, so we’d like to seek sponsors who’d give us the money we need to run a multi-stream event with 1000+ attendees. Do you have experience with wrangling sponsorship money? Please reach out!

Social Media Want an internship to harness your social media skills? Love lurking on Bluesky, Mastodon, or Instagram and want a more active way to participate? Do you just really like making graphics on Canva and shouting bad puns into the void? Come help us out with our social media! The specific obligations and shape of the position are very flexible and can be discussed specifically with you.

Specify which position you’re interested in, how much availability you have for working on it, and some good times to set up a meeting with you. (Meetings can be video or text-based. We’re chill.) It may take a couple weeks for us to respond.

Flights of Foundry Video Wrangler You may have noticed that the release of past FoF programming has…foundered. We got a really slick and smooth workflow figured out just in time to have no more time ever to get the videos proofed and uploaded. Help! This position involves light video editing, proofing behind some very neat captioning software, and uploads to our Youtube Channel. You will not be expected to review the videos for content. That will remain a staff task.
