The Go Go’s “Talk Show” turns 41 today! 🥳 “Head Over Heels” was its lead single, but I leaned more toward “Turn To You”, “I’m The Only One” and “Mercenary”. An all-female band that repeatedly topped the charts in a male dominant industry. 🙌

Depeche Mode’s classic “Violator” turns 3️⃣5️⃣ today! 🥳🎶 This was DM at their peak for me. Violator is perfect in every way. I was lucky enough to see them when they toured this record. World Violation in LA at Dodger Stadium.
🙏🎶
Depeche Mode’s “Black Celebration” turned 39 yesterday! 🥳🎶
A much darker album than their previous work, Martin Gore really amped up the moodiness on this one. Songwriting and production wise, they were well on their way to bigger and better things. I always love revisiting this one. 🖤
Radiohead’s “The Bends” turns dirty 3️⃣0️⃣ today!! 🥳🎶 Somewhere, I have a cassette of me and a friend performing a few songs off this record acoustically at a local coffee shop. We covered “High and Dry”, “Fake Plastic Trees” and “Street Spirit(Fade Out).
You’re too kind. 🙏😅
Man, I am not very good at posting on here. 🤦🏻♂️ My apologies.
You’re right! That’s the same rack I have too. Just painted my black. 🙌 🎶
Haha. Just a little sign someone gave me. I miss those arcade days.
Anyone still have a collection of these things?
Between my wife and I, we have boxes full of cassettes we’ve collected from our youth. Some of these have never been pressed to vinyl, so we’re grateful to have them in tape form. Especially those maxi-singles. 🙌😅
Alice In Chains’ “Jar Of Flies” turns 31 today! 🥳🎶 It’s a hauntingly beautiful record. Especially this pressing which also includes their EP “Sap”. “No Excuses”, “I Stay Away” were the big singles on this one, but “Nutshell” brings me on the brink of tears every time.
Those box sets went so damn fast. I totally missed out. I do however have the Roth era box set.
I want a copy of this so bad! 🙏😩
Right behind you brother. 🙌👴🏼
How cool is it that these bands are still around! 🙌
Def Leppard’s “Pyromania” turns 42 today! 🥳🎶 1983 was a big year for the band, as they introduced new guitarist Phil Collen, and tailored their sound to be more radio-friendly on this record. This is when I first discovered DL. Another Mutt Lange produced masterpiece. 👍😎🎸
Bryan Adams’ “Cuts Like A Knife” turns 42 today! The title track was my first exposure to the Canadian rocker. I remember watching the music video on MTV. The album was a huge commercial hit, containing catchy hooks and melodies and of course the staple 80’s ballads. Bryan is a helluva song writer.
Discogs has been a life saver for that reason. Lol. Took forever to catalog everything. But now I hopefully won’t buy any more duplicates.
Formally known as Huang Chung, Wang Chung’s “Points To A Curve” turns 41 today! 🥳🎶 Their claim to fame was the top ten single “Dance Hall Days”. It would be a couple albums later before they would demand that everyone “wang chung tonight”. 👍😎
Hey Matt! Good to see you too! We will forever be bonded by that show. 🙌😅🎶
The Sundays’ debut album “Reading, Writing and Arithmetic” turns 3️⃣5️⃣ today!! 🥳🎶 I instantly fell I love with this record when it came out. Known for its hit single “This Is Where The Story Ends”, it’s a no-skip album.
Rush’s “Permanent Waves” turns 4️⃣5️⃣ today!! 🥳🎶
“Freewill” and “The Spirit Of Radio” gave them a more commercial sound than on previous albums, but they still held true to their prog-rock roots with “Jacob’s Ladder” and “Natural Science”. Fantastic record.
Hello everyone! So yes, as per many of your recommendations, here I am. Haha. Glad to see you all here. Looking forward to see what this platform has to offer. 🙏
