The Fly Board plays an important role in the Drosophila research community, so please read this message carefully and cast your vote. Vote Now Select the individuals who will represent the Drosophila community to further its interests in research, education, and public outreach. Voting will close on February 20, 2026. The Fly Board's duties include: Selecting the organizers and site for the North American Annual Drosophila Research Conference in collaboration with GSA Staff Overseeing Drosophila Trainee Awards, the Drosophila Service Award, the Drosophila Image Award, and the Larry Sandler Award Advocating on behalf of the Drosophila community to further research, education, and public outreach The Fly Board is led by elected representatives including the President, President-elect, Past-presidents, the Treasurer, and several regional representatives from the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe, Asia, and Australia/Oceania, one primarily undergraduate institution representative, and two early career representatives. Regional representatives serve three-year terms that will start immediately after the 67th Annual Drosophila Research Conference taking place March 4β8, 2026, in Chicago. The Board also has ex-officio members, including past-Presidents, meeting organizers, and community resource center representatives. Thank you, The 2026 Drosophila Board Election Committee
Hey fly friends (the Drosophila Community)

The FlyBase QuickSearch tool, with the GAL4 etc tab and the link to the Frequently Used GAL4 and Other Binary System Drivers resource circled in pink.
You can find a link to the Frequently Used GAL4 and Other Binary System Drivers resource at the bottom of the GAL4 etc QuickSearch tab.
The Frequently Used GAL4 and Other System Binary Drivers resource filtered to show a newly added GAL4 driver.
Updated in FB2025_05: We've added 9 new binary drivers to the Frequently Used GAL4 and Other Binary System Drivers resource flybase.org/GAL4/freq_us..., which documents all binary drivers curated to at least 15 (lexA) or 20 (GAL4) papers.
A FlyBase Gene Report opened to the Linkouts subsection of the External Crossreferences and Linkouts section. The section heading and the FlyCyc Genes linkout have been boxed in bright pink.
Links from FlyBase gene reports to FlyCyc pathway pages have been updated to reflect the latest associations.
You can find those links in the Linkouts subsection of the External Crossrefereences and Linkouts section of Gene Reports.
FlyCyc represents all the metabolic reactions and pathways of Drosophila melanogaster, computed by combining comprehensive pathway data at BioCyc (MetaCyc) with the set of manually curated/reviewed Gene Ontology annotations at FlyBase

We have recently updated FlyCyc biocyc.org/DMEL/organis..., the pathway-genome database representing Drosophila metabolism, to include enzymatic complexes as well as further improvements to enzyme annotations. #FlyCyc is now classed as a βTier 1 Highly Curated Organism Databaseβ.
