A prominent journalist who had previously been threatened by Israel has been killed along with four colleagues in an Israeli airstrike while inside a tent for journalists.

The Council of Europe Recommendation on SLAPPs, adopted in April 2024, sets out clear indicators that can and should be used to identify a SLAPP.

In 2023, he was sentenced to five years in prison for comments condemning Russian aggression.
