Everything is human and emotional, so with that logic, literally anything can lead to fascism.
Leftists are not all Leninist/Marxist. Leftist politics and the way the USSR was run in practice are not the same. And there were reasons the USSR became a fascist dictatorship that don’t have anything to do with leftism.

I maintain that the events surrounding NET last year look especially damning against the backdrop of our current political climate. Some people at NET are trying to make the event safer for marginalized folks, but if change from the inside had been enough, this wouldn’t have happened.
