I told Floor she was going to work with me, and she started running around my feet when I brought the carrier into the living room. It wasn't time to leave yet, but she hopped in and stared at me like...
"I'm ready. Can we go now?!"
Just that he was safe, and things have been really scary since the regime killed 36k Iranians. I'm just so relieved to hear from him finally.

It's possible, and that's what I'm hoping. I checked in on him the last time, and he got back to me relatively quickly because he was able to evacuate as a precaution - but didn't really need to. Obviously this time is different, but I'm hoping it's just a loss of Internet access. 🥺
I just went on a subscription cancellation spree. Highly recommend! I was paying subscriptions in case I want to use it in the near future, but now I'm only going to pay for them if it turns out that I do want to use it.

I knew a few kids growing up whose parents were Iranian immigrants, and they were all the proof I needed that they are brave, kind, and brilliant people. They're part of the reason why I make sure to differentiate between leaders and citizens when referring to a country. (Ex. Kremlin =/= Russians)

Anyway...I'm so thankful that I didn't block him. I hope I hear from him soon.
When I lost Bebop, then my mom, then Rocky, he checked in on me often. More than most irl friends.
He explained in coded language why he is single...and why living in Tehran is lonely.
I think about him a lot. I keep checking for a reply.

One time, I let him join my livestream, because I saw that him in the chat. I felt bad that I didn't know how to pronounce his name when I said hello. He came on the screen and was very patient while helping me say his name correctly.😆 He has the sweetest giggle.
One year, he asked if I would send him a holiday card-it was tricky figuring out how to write his address, but he got it. He filmed himself opening it🥹 The following March, he lost his dad to COVID. He was devastated & isolated. He knew I lost mine, and reached out. We bonded over this, too.
He said he felt guilty for what he said, and wanted to be a kinder and more empathetic person. He started making it his goal to use social media to be kind - sharing lovely content, and leaving kindness in everyone's comments. He loves bunnies, but can't own one, so he's an honorary bunny person.
And he did something I didn't expect - he apologized. Sincerely. He removed his comment and replaced it with kind words. Out of respect for him and his apology, I won't share what he originally said or the context. And thus began a lovely friendship.
I'll share how we became friends...
In 2018, he left an IG comment that was pretty ignorant. Rather than blocking him, I sent him a DM. I told him why I felt his comment was offensive. He said he only knew what he saw in the media. I gave him context, statistics, and my personal experience.
One of my favorite people is a lovely young man who lives in Tehran. We became long distance buddies years ago, especially after his dad died early on in the pandemic - he was alone & needed someone who understood. He loves rabbits, and is a kind, gentle soul. I haven't heard from him yet.
School Spirits pulled off another wild season finale, with a few crazy twists/cliffhangers, as usual.
I hope we get another season, but I wouldn't be surprised if we don't- given the paramount+ merger in the works. I need to know how it ends! But, if that's the end, I enjoyed it while it lasted!
I don't want children of my own...unless I can adopt and raise Neel and Grogu as my own. Little Boople Doopers!

All I ate yesterday was 2 chicken fingers and 4 watermelon popsicles...I may be 40, but I still eat like I did as a 10 year old when my parents weren't home and my brother was in charge.
As an OSU alum, I am embarrassed. They're really doubling down and running ads promoting the OSU *Wexner* Medical Center. I don't even understand why they need to run ads. It's not like we aren't aware that OSU has a hospital, but now more people are aware that their biggest donor is a pdf.

We considered it, but I love this area more. The condo isn't very conveniently located, and his parents are looking to sell it in a few months. Plus, the HOA is an absolute nightmare to deal with. They slap fines in everything. Might as well rent, and avoid the maintenance costs.
They're staying at the condo together for a bit. Floor and I are at the apartment. (Jason's parents have a condo about 15 mins from our apartment, but they never stay there anymore.)

I have no memory of being home after school. I was either at practice for something or with friends somewhere. Do kids even do anything outside of their home anymore that isn't arranged by their parents in advance? It's weird that most kids don't just go outside and find shit to do.

The new boy and Jason are staying at the condo for a while, so we can do a bonding reset. Hopefully, after a little break, we can have more success on neutral territory when we reintroduce them. For now, it's just us girls.
