Tag line for philosophy as a discipline
I learnt from these lecture notes (karagila.org/files/Forcin...), or for some intuition I think the preliminaries in the following thesis are great (etheses.whiterose.ac.uk/id/eprint/37...). I also second Kunen and the Chow paper being very canonical references!
if i had an old wife i would listen to all of her tales
retweet to make a constructivist mad
For reasons I can't quite put my finger on I feel like I liked this play for some of the same reasons I liked lemons lemons lemons lemons lemons.
Poster for the play blink
Blink was a super interesting watch! I have a tendency to really focus on form when thinking about things like this - both the overlapping monologues and the staging were very cool, very efficient writing. But, also undeniably viscerally emotional in a way I really enjoyed.
Picture of the books 'the one hundred nights of hero' and 'sunburn'
Little haul from gay's the word.
Was asked at a comedy show about valentine's stories and was reminded of the time my highschool boyfriend very badly forged Jacqueline Wilson's signature for me ๐ญ Not made up my mind whether this was a red flag or not
Photograph of my slides which states the aim of my talk is to induce an interesting argument
Just gave a fun talk about some of Maddy's philosophy, very happy that I successfully had people arguing in the coffee room for an hour afterwards ๐
Macbeth: SHIT
Yippee wahoo on the plane. Have been reading project hail Mary - don't think it's going to outrank the martian for me but has been fun.
Hour 7, fighting my demons (attempting to return to inbox zero after many months of ignoring this)
Hour 6, slides done, listening to Brian Eno's music for airports as god intended.
My workstation at an airport: coffee and a philosophy paper
Hour 2, reading some nice philosophy for my talk, listening to men I trust.
Currently on hour 1 out of 9 in Prague airport. I have talk slides to write for tomorrow, currently unsure whether this will be the best rehearsed talk in history, or if I'll emerge having read half of Wikipedia with 5 questionable podcast ideas.
women only love diamonds in this world. they love squares in all worlds.
New video about maths communication!
What makes Numberphile videos so effective? I analyse how these videos explain maths, and try talking about the Monty Hall problem in the iconic Numberphile style myself. @bradyharan.bsky.social

Feeling v lucky to have two indie cinemas within walking distance of me rn though
Just saw Marty Supreme, I liked it but truly I feel like I need 24 hours to digest it before I can give any sensible opinions
Spent this evening watching good will hunting, then doing the graph theory exercise in good will hunting
Escher exhibit - there was some decent exposition about tessalation in hyperbolic geometry!
Truly I wanted to like it, and there were some really great moments, but honestly the sci-fi elements introduced towards the end really took me out of it. I think had I not gone in thinking of it as a sci-fi movie I might've enjoyed it more
Why did no one tell me the movie arrival was bad
I've been doing long days marking undergrad work for like a week straight, my break today has been learning sad Radiohead covers on guitar ... TBD if this is a cry for help
in a better world arXiv has always had the policy that all papers must be in esperanto
