All previous presidents speaking candidly during the fune:
I mightve been not that great but I was NEVER this bad. We gotta lock in!
Yall have to remember that Black folk and Latinos have no sense of time π€£
Gustavo said AND ANOTHER THING!!!!
Exactly!!!! He was going off!
This Colombian man is speaking DOWN!
He giving everyone a history lesson 4real 4real!
Lemme turn my Spanish ears on ππ½
I should've been over here keke-ing with yall with this fune.
But I've been multitasking today.
USPS along with federal health agencies were and are being sabotaged.
Those socialist programs you wanted have always been here. If they weren't, they wouldn't be sabotaging them.
Bernard LaFayette, the advance man who did the risky groundwork for the voter registration campaign in Selma, Alabama, that culminated in the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, has died.
Hand holding a copy of "Of One Blood" by Pauline Hopkins on a plain background. The cover features a stylized illustration by Seth.
"A seminal work of Black speculative fiction. Over a century since its original publication, Hopkinsβs classic remains as relevant today as ever." βΒ @pdjeliclark.bsky.social
We highly recommend Pauline Hopkins' "Of One Blood" to broaden your #scifi reading list: mitpress.mit.edu/978026254429...
It's 11am and all I can think about is ribs
Been sitting trying to write for like the past 2.5 hrs and it ain't coming to me at all.
And I know it's because I'm trying to write fiction during the day lol
As far as other Black books under historical fiction, Sadeqa is sweeping them (makes sense). Tayari is 2nd.
Sadeqa is at 128k.
Seven Daughters of Dupree is right behind Tayari. I think all of those books will be top 20 by the end of the year.
I'm being nosey on Goodreads and looking at book statistics for the 2026 books that I like and anticipate being in the awards at the end (yes already because bookcovers for the fall are starting to roll out).
Burn Down Master's House is at 59k.
Good sh*t.
Hey. BTW, bombs excelerate climate change.

Problem is, with many older YA books and books by BIPOC authors going out of print, they're harder to find. I can't find the other book I'm thinking of, but I do know that Needles had more scene time than the other character I'm thinking of. And it speaks to why having more representation matters.
Great points. #booksky #blackbooksky
We are really going to regret the technology we have built.
I will be working on a proposal today.
It's due tomorrow π.
Wish me luck!
Having two 5π back to back makes me not want to read what I have now to read lol.
Idk what that is but yeah...
I am in bereavement. I want to weep. And this is a debut?!? I did peep that Monique Patterson was her editor (iykyk)!
This is my top read of the year. Like... yall... I gotta journal after this. #booksky #blackbooksky #thepoetempress

Reward her by killing [redacted]?!?!
150 pages from the end and I do feel bad from Terren while simultaneously very much so disliking him.
