And then I realized:

It's an Egg McGuffin.

We are living through a time that some folks will attempt to misremember. They will rewrite, erase, water-down, placate, and pander. They will gaslight us.

We have to refuse that. We have to remember.

Our memory is resistance. Our rage is resistance.

Me: (working on novel)

Brain: Hey, got a great idea for a novel. Not this novel.

Me: (typing) Not now, brain.

Brain: Don't you wanna know what it is?

Me: NOT NOW, BRAIN

Brain: I'm not gonna lie, it's SUPER cool

Me: LET ME FINISH THE NOVEL IN FRONT OF ME, BRAIN

Brain: Okay, I'm gonna tell you

i really am pretty bummed out about what has happened to twitter, if we are being honest. i met a lot of my best friends and collaborators there for like a decade. all for a rich guy to turn it into stormfront. it sucks
