Unlike many, I thought the gist of Lennier's arc was long in the making, even if the execution sometimes falters.
Babylon 5 5x02: "The Very Long Night of Londo Mollari": The episode has its flaws, but I still ultimately like it. The end of the fourth season has Londo and G'Kar just a bit too chummy; this episode corrects that a bit, setting the stage for their arc this season (which I quite enjoy). #Babylon5
That never quite materializes. But as far as this episode is concerned, the conflict is real. This is a fairly dark episode overall, a nice contrast to the previous installment.
The X-Files 2x21: "The Calusari": As much as the series featured a crazy alien conspiracy arc, there was always an underlying spiritual warfare angle as well. Episodes like this strike right at the heart of that, and even suggest it will become a major plot arc of its own. #TheXFiles
So heβs surrendering without accomplishing any of his stated objectives while declaring victory. Exactly what we said would happen.
We saw that with Sammy already this season. Speaking of, let's get to the next trial already.
Supernatural 8x18: "Freaks and Geeks": I wasn't the biggest fan of Krissy last season, and she's just as bad now. And her friends aren't much better. I don't remember if they come back, but the truth is, as the episode points out, getting out of the hunting life is near impossible. #Supernatural
The ghost sickness is taking its toll, even as he keeps pushing people away. Something tells me that will get worse before it gets better, in part because of his stubborn streak.
Dark Winds 4x04: "Ni' ΓniidΓ": The squad arrives in Los Angeles in the hopes of finding Billie and Leroy before the assassin does. And of course, things are far more complicated than they expected, especially for Jim Chee. #DarkWinds
Todayβs commuting pick:
Asia: Fantasia: Live in Tokyo (2007)
I have this on vinyl but it also came in a CD box set of the βreunionβ era. Listening to the first disc today!

I struggle a bit with first person, especially first person present tense, but if the story is good, Iβll make do. But if I hear that a book is in that style/tense, I might choose something else more to my preference until the time is right.
I knew I felt a little off
Our puppy Niles went on his first walk today, now that the snow has mostly melted! He did so well! I think he enjoyed finally getting out of the house and exploring the neighborhood.
Evangelion 30th Anniversary short film is now online.

That said, some of the performances from the guest cast don't quite work for me, which undermines the emotional gist of the episode. And the final moments feel far too manipulative.
Stargate SG-1 1x07: "Cold Lazarus": This is one of the more interesting early episodes for highlighting an alien race that isn't descended from a human culture. And it's a creative way to address one of the major events in Jack's past. #StargateSG1
From promoting Mein Kampf reading groups led by Ann Coulterβs white nationalist niece one day, to getting face time with the Secretary of State the next. America! Weβre still the country where anything is possible!
Rare moment when heβs not draped across one of our laps!
Once I wrap up the most recent Firefly novel in the near future, I wanted to revisit the comics. There are a lot more than I expected...and many of them are out of print or very hard to find.
There are some good sets to check out from Hawkwind and Nektar for fans of those bands. I might check out the Talking Heads. Can Morrissey deliver a comeback album these days? Or will it be lyrics full of his political nonsense?
Yeah, ultimately, this is at best a lateral move. Also has the potential to be worse in some respects. We're not going to see ICE suddenly get a conscience.
No one knows yet. The announcement is coming March 15.
My prediction is an animated movie set between the end of the series and Serenity.
I also remember the classic Betsy fondly. I have a lot of those 80s issues in my old long boxes! I remember being annoyed when they did the whole switch. So I see where youβre coming from.
Just in case you weren't aware, there is currently the Psylocke: Ninja series that is a couple issues in. Takes place back after the whole Siege Perilous thing. But not sure if it's what you're looking for.
Sorry I'm not more open-minded about LLMs, it's just some fucking maniacs shoveled out a bunch of useless bloatware featuring that technology, did not give me any chance to opt out, reorganized the entire economy around it, zeroed out gains made by green energy, and made it impossible to buy RAM
Now playing:
Peter Banks: Two Sides of Peter Banks (1973)
This has some great guest appearances: Steve Hackett, Phil Collins, John Wetton, among others.
#PeterBanks
Inevitably, I will let it go and just take the plot for what it is, because I otherwise enjoyed the episode for what it was. And it set up a fun cliffhanger.
Dune 3 vs. Avengers: Doomsday?
The pragmatic answer would be Avengers, to get a jump on the spoilers that will inevitably hit the internet immediately.
But I really want to see what they do with Dune 3. Preferably on IMAX.
Especially since the fandom was already remarking on its tropes on the nascent internet. Everyone knocks it out of the park, but I personally love some of the line deliveries from Duchovny.
