Huh. It's almost as if school #vouchers have been a massive grift the entire time.

How do you make your attendance numbers look better when kids aren't coming to school? Lie, of course.
Send a message directly to your state legislators! Public servants (like ALL workers) deserve the right to strike!
This is absolutely the right take for Taylor to have. Kagan can scream until she's blue in the face, but it isn't her call. She's trying to prepare for her election, so she needs to have the same shock-and-horror that her base has around this.
So what are you, if elected as County Exec, going to do to help MoCo residents... besides virtue signal?
I just signed a @theactionnetwork.bsky.social petition: Tell State Legislators to Pass HB1084 - Give MCPS Calendar Flexibility! . Sign here: actionnetwork.org/petitions/te...

You're not claiming that one member of a community has the ability to speak for all of the members of that community or even to control other members of that community, are you? Because that sounds like the same racist BS that is used to justify collective punishment.
MEMORANDUM OPINION Rufe, J. February 16, 2026 All history was a palimpsest, scraped clean and reinscribed exactly as often as was necessary. In no case would it have been possible, once the deed was done, to prove that any falsification had taken place. George Orwell, 19841 As if the Ministry of Truth in George Orwellβs 1984 now existed, with its motto βIgnorance is Strength,β this Court is now asked to determine whether the federal government has the power it claimsβto dissemble and disassemble historical truths when it has some domain over historical facts. It does not.
OMG, to open the ruling with a quote from George Orwell's 1984 is fucking brilliant!
To grift off the public dollar, obviously.
So your idea to fix the problem is to lower taxes and cut spending on government employees? I'm sure with less money coming in, making government jobs less desirable (and making public services worse) is absolutely going to somehow turn the turn the county around! π
The only way to win the war for public education is to learn from past mistakes.

::closes eyes:: I can't condone student-on-student violence. I can't condone student-on-student violence. I can't condone student-on-student violence...
The U.S. Department of Defense has barred military personnel from enrolling in courses at many of the nationβs top universities, including Harvard, Yale, MIT, and Johns Hopkins. A leaked email is said to contain the full list of affected schools. Shared by MeidasTouch.
I love it how βgovernanceβ and βaccountability" can best be summarized by ZIP Code. Oh, wait, no, I don't
@thomaswtayloredd is doing a solid job with the CIP process. Too bad people aren't giving him a chance.

#MSDE wants to spend more on student success, but are they putting the money into places that will ACTUALLY deliver the success they claim they are looking for? Or is it more likely that this is all just more window-dressing? #edchat #edfunding
#MCPS has had lots of snow days already... how long will our school year be extended?
Screenshot of an X post by Omar Jimenez (@OmarJimβ¦, 7h) stating that Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison says he doesnβt have the names of the agents who shot Alex Pretti, adding: βIβve been a lawyer for 36 years. Iβve never seen anything like this before.β Below is a CNN video thumbnail showing a split screen: on the left, an older man in a black cap and glasses labeled βBrown | Business Owner,β and on the right, Keith Ellison in a suit. A CNN βLIVEβ bug appears in the corner.
This is a cover up of a murder, led by our own federal government.
Why is this picture evocative? It's not b/c of the one-sidedness of Revere's depiction. I teach the Boston Massacre to middle schoolers... They don't care about the slaughter being depicted or the lack of accuracy of the image. They care about the dog.
If ICE kills a dog, it's all over.
MSDE's Strategic Plan Pillar 3 rebrands a lot of old measures that rely on faulty statistics, but there is a glimmer of hope in @govwesmoore.bsky.social's apprenticeship programs
I really do think it's time that you and the other governors of the northeast start making alternative plans that don't involve the federal government.
ICE isnβt an aberration, but the product of the militarized police state the US built at home and abroad. The shooting of an unarmed man isnβt new, just how brazenly this violence is carried out. Fight ICE, but to truly protect our communities, we must dismantle the system that made it possible.
Yesterday, over 30,000 people protested against ICE in below-zero temperatures. Amazing work, everyone. Minnesota strong. Tomorrow, there will be more of us.
