βThe punctum is the camera - really an iPhone - and me, as I am now. Though my voice punctures the past at times.β

An image of the about page for a new literary magazine, simple black text on white background with a line-drawn swift (bird) at the top: s w i f t s is a literary magazine edited by Jeremy Michael Reed. You may submit up to five pieces of creative work regardless of genre. Like our namesake, the journal prioritizes pieces that are adept in multiple ways at the same time: speed and strength, quick movements and longevity of flight, drag and thrust. We welcome simultaneous submissions, but please notify us when your work is accepted by another publisher. If you are submitting translations, please include the original language version and proof that you have permission to translate the work. If you are incorporating work you did not create yourself into your piece, please acknowledge it in your cover letter and provide any proof of permission if necessary. Rights revert back to the author after publication, though we do ask for an acknowledgment when the work later appears elsewhere and we maintain non-exclusive anthology rights in case we publish a print anthology in the future. We nominate for Best of the Net, Pushcart Prizes, Best American anthologies, The OβHenry Prize, Best Literary Translations, Best Microfictions, and other awards as applicable. If thereβs a place we should be nominating work we arenβt already, please let us know. To contact the editors or submit your writing, please email swiftslitmag@gmail.com. We look forward to reading your work.
We are officially open to submissions for Issue 1 to be published in early 2026! Send us some work to consider!
