Blue sky, a few puffy clouds. Some condominiums across the bay.
Same view across the bay. More cumulus clouds in the sky before the rain. The sea is a steel grey.
Same view. Evening sun is golden on the condominiums. The sea is shadowed with flat wave ripples and the sky shows blue above the bay with contrail clouds.
Grey skies and matching sea with a bit of green. You can see the rainfall out to sea in the distance.

The photojournalist SebastiΓ£o Salgado, who passed away last month, at the age of 81, documented some of the greatest human horrors of the past century, but he said, βI never. . . photograph the misery.β
Screenshot of a poem from The Poetry Society's poems database. The text in black on a white background reads 'Bee Mornings by Julia Webb. The bees that sleep inside me fill my mind with buzz. I am Nectar they say, I am Wax and Cone, I am of Bee but not of Bee. In the morning I look at my bee stripes under the covers, something strange and flighty is taking place inside me, my head hums like something electric. Yet by breakfast you would never know that anything had changed; I fidget the toast around the plate, somehow it seems wrong to eat honey on bee mornings. I bin the crusts and rinse the dish. Feel my eyes striping up beneath their lids my tongue turning to fur, the swarm growing inside my ribs.
It's #WorldBeeDay ! Have a poem.
Julia Webb's 'Bee Mornings' was commended in our 2012 Stanza Poetry Competition on the theme of 'Stripes', judged by John Siddique.

Israeli forces have now dropped more explosives in Gaza than fell on London, Dresden, and Hamburg during the Second World War. The regionβs hospitals have not been spared; most are no longer functional. Clayton Dalton writes about the devastation.

Like the terrestrial
crust of the earth
which is proportionately
ten times thinner
than an eggshell,
the skin of the soul
is a miracle of mutual
pressures.

A man in dark shirt and shorts walks through a parking lot. He is framed against two trees with new spring leaves and a graffiti wall. A bright blue sky and the glare of almost noon sun lights the picture.

Four seagulls in the shade - one above the others on a grey stone urn. To the left of it rises the spire of St Johnβs Church lit by evening sun.
Stayed up to see blood moon and the sky was clear until 5am (best time for spotting) then a huge bank of cloud came and covered it! So here are some sulky seagulls.
