ahhh I *just* started some new sketches, but here's what I've finished before for Clara and Wesley. 2nd was for a limited color palette challenge.

I'm still figuring out how to capture them, but the aura gap between these pictures makes me giggle a bit 😂

I'm the same way, and especially so as a reader. I get too invested and if it doesn't end happily it just hurts my feelings too much 😂

My favorite story arc is a long road of hurt and comfort intertwining, plenty of pain and plenty of healing, leading up to a happy ending. With Speak Its Name, the theme is how injury charges your life but doesn't end it. So the ending I think will be happy with bittersweet notes.

#AwesomeCharacters I prefer bittersweet endings—or, as Robert McKee calls them, ironic endings. Those that are happy but have that note of tragedy, or are tragic but have a shade of happiness and fulfilment. Endings where the characters neither win nor lose everything.

Arcanium ores are all the variety of usual metals but with magical properties. So there's arcanium iron, arcanium gold, etc. I still need to figure out if they affect different metals differently, but at the moment I'm thinking they cause the metal to basically be a magic sponge.

I erased a whole family of 12 because I realized I didn't actually care about any of them and they were all just mechanisms to make the plot move. I replaced that family with a polycule made up of a golden retriever, a white housecat, and a scarred old cattlehound. I love them.

I cut a cousin who I rather liked but she was part of what @hopeengel.com astutely (and diplomatically) pointed out was "too many chores," which I think everyone writing a fantasy needs someone to gently tell them. Cut & combine scenes that only serve to world building.

Working alongside the reaper-esque Unicorns, Pixies help aid in locating lost souls.

The Unicorns’ exposed bones grow a white mushroom, falling from its steps, streaked in black, contains Essence Magic that only the Pixie’s can use.
