We will not let our community be erased. Suspending gender-affirming care for the trans community is political intimidation, not medicine. This care is medically necessary. New York must protect providers and patients by passing the SHIELD Rx Act. Resume care. Stand with trans youth.
This week I had the opportunity to meet with @ppfa.org. We discussed what the state needs to do to step up and protect reproductive freedom and ensure families have the support they need to succeed. When the federal government fails families, NY will step up!
Democracy only works when people put in the work. I’m spending this petitioning Saturday with HK Dems & CRDC. Time to roll up our sleeves!

It is clear, New York has the power to pass broad regulation to protect New Yorkers. Once passed, the MELT Act will stand constitutional muster.

I joined dozens of colleagues from local and state government to send a letter to NYU Langone demanding they reconsider their decision to end gender affirming care for trans youth. If not reversed, this decision will cause irreparable harm to New Yorkers across the state.

On Presidents Day, we honor leaders like George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, who stood for democracy, unity, and the rule of law. We should measure today’s presidency against those values—and demand leadership that lives up to them.
Thank you to HRC for a great annual dinner and for your solidarity at the Stonewall flag raising! During an era of political backsliding for LGBTQ+ people, it was great to celebrate LGBTQ people in our city and hear from advocacy and civil rights leaders! 🏳️🌈💖🏳️⚧️
This Valentine’s Day, love wins. When the Pride flag was taken down, we didn’t stay silent, we put the flag back up where it belongs. Our community deserves visibility, dignity, and love every day. ❤️🏳️🌈
