An Army Corps project could wipe out one of Florida’s last thriving coral reefs The fate of one of the last thriving coral reefs in Florida may be imperiled by plans to widen the shipping channel leading into Port Everglades.

The US army corps of engineers is considering, right now, what would be the largest destruction of coral reefs in US history. To make a port slightly bigger.

People know this, right?

I want to share these quotes from some of my colleagues:

When we ignore:

– Housing affordability
– Healthcare access
– Insurance instability

We’re basically stacking dry wood in the corner of the room.

Often in a poor job market, college grads will choose to continue their education into grad school.

But with federal funding being gutted, a lot of grad programs are recruiting fewer students, or none at all. Leaving less opportunity for our young adults and putting more pressure on the job market.

Universal healthcare, universal childcare, public health, education, cancelling student loans, science and research funding, welfare programs are all much better uses of that much money.

Just part of all the attacks on federal workers and their unions.

And remember a whole bunch are likely to lose their protections next week when the list of who becomes schedule F is released.

Tony Gonzales admits affair with aide who died by suicide β€œβ€‹β€‹I’ve asked God to forgive me, which he has,” the San Antonio Republican told a conservative radio host the day after he was forced into a primary runoff.

It does seem at times that America's political system attracts those who don't have the ethics or moral compass to make a living doing anything else.

Tony Gonzales is a horrendous human being.

A key phrase the FDA uses (used? ugh) is "may have complexities with regard to for peptide-related impurities." Not only can the intended peptide do damage, but there is often little or no quality control, so there can be other peptides with unknown action taken too.

Funded by NIH + NSF. No private investor funds a 16-week mouse study on OL gene biology.

Federal science builds the foundation industry stands on. Neurological disease costs the U.S. $800B/year. This is what the return on that investment looks like.
