Its nice that years of therapy has me recognize when thoughts or concerns arent rational but still kinda sucks realizing that doesnt really fix the issue because humans are irrational & contradictory by nature which is both frustrating but also sometimes beautiful

As someone also watching through Majulars retrospective on series Its so wild how fascinating those games are conceptually while also being poison to how I approach a lot of rpg's

Its crazy just how much I didnt know about the whole thing and how deep the rabbithole went and I appreaciate the amount of work she put into cataloguing it all for articles and events

You can now play multiplayer just by loading up Dolphin Netplay so if you can convince some friends you can absolutely experience it today!

There will definitely be session 1 issues while you figure out stuff but after that its pretty smooth!

Day 3 thoughts on Tales of Abyss: I gotta say the story and characters are really hooking me in a way I really did not expect

I genuinely am enjoying small things like characters treating traumas and things like amnesia with respect they deserve as well as characters actually growing past bits 1/2

I am shocked how ridiculously important healing and party coordination is in this game with multiplayer! Like it actively became like ff14 party dynamics by the end of tonights session and I had to do a party wipe rescue! Super fun and now kinda mad this experience isnt more accessible tbh...

Everyone and their brother uses things like amnesia or being uncomfortable around women for plot contrivances or gags alone so it's extremely refreshing to have a game that's willing to explore exactly what that means for someone and how its genuinely serious and kinda life changin6

Luke's comment to Tear about how he didn't have time to learn about history because he needed to focus relearn his parents faces when she got frustrated with his ignorance and her immediate 180 into genuinely being apologetic about her behavior was great
