The fact that this is a lie & investigations show it was actually Trump and Hesgeth that blew up the school is important context that you should include in the headline

I think Spain's multiregionalism + connectedness to Latam and North Africa also contributes. A lotta islamic history and significant population esp in Southern Spain, and lot of travel, shared culture, immigration between Spain and many latam countries.

Israel warns nearly a million people in south Beirut to evacuate their homes ahead of bombing. This is insanity.

...Then the latter side will always be on the offensive, having the advantage, and the other side will be always on the defensive, correctly perceived as spineless, without substance, etc.

You address Morris' secondary point in that post (the effect size of moderation is dwarfed by uncertainty)

It seems like charts 2 & 3 in the quoted tweet are more pertinent, which show how malleable/fluid public opinion can be.

When one side pretends opinion is fixed + exogenous to political strategy, and the other operates with a very effective propaganda machine that shapes public opinion...

Mamdani actually has policies that focus on affordability, rather than invoking it only as an abstraction.

He never stopped talking about civil rights, equality, value and beauty of diversity (esp in NYC), while also talking about affordability.

With honesty & directness becoming incredibly rare in our degraded media ecosystem, this was an incredibly refreshing read

The weak response from Can, EU and UN to Trump's flagrant crimes in Venezuela is striking.

It exposes that much of the world has been cowed.

Most notable exception: the Latin American left.

That is why the Trump Admin has gone to enormous lengths to defeat the left across the continent. 1/3

The Renewable Illusion: Why Fossil Fuels Keep Winning Global renewables hit records in 2024, but fossil fuel use still rises. Here’s why solar’s surge isn’t enoughβ€”and what the latest energy data really shows.

1. This is something I've been saying for 25 years, but it's hard to get many people to listen. What counts is not the new energy sources you add, but the old ones you retire. Unfortunately it's politically easier to build renewables than to shutter fossil fuels.🧡

"The AI infrastructure build-out is so gigantic that in the past 6 months, it contributed more to the growth of the U.S. economy than /all of consumer spending/" - @mims.bsky.social

My takeway is that The US has gone ALL IN BET OF THE 21st Century on AI, while China has gone all in on green tech

we have an elite impunity problem and a lot of the people and institutions that nominally oppose Trump will burn down their own before admitting that this helped produce him

taking this moment, between the terrible supreme court opinions, the concentration camps, and the bill in the senate, to go on tour of cable news to trash the dem nominee for mayor of nyc, and to do it while lying about him and peddling in obvious islamophobic rhetoric…it’s truly black pilling
