Up here in SM2 we have had warm WX for weeks. When warm and sunny it takes one minute to be attacked by 4-5 horsefly/gadflys. Now only 24C and cloudy which means you can do antenna work again.
Sun is still up here but forgot my beer in my home village (2nd site) so now enjoying a cigar here instead. But cheers
Midnight in Lulea
2235 local time in LuleΓ₯
5 baby reindeer in one picture. But saw even more
Midnight at the arctic circle. We finally have midnight sun. Arrivwed here 2 hours ago. No wind. 15C. No mosquitos (!) and I enjoyed a cigar outdoors.
Nothing on 6m but I was heard south.
Hopefully 6m is open on friday. It is a public holiday as we are celebrating our National Day.
Local time 2200. Sun still up in Lulea
G5 here in the north
Probably best stay away from HF right now. The pin in the center of the circle is my QTH KP16or
0035 local time. Camera facing north. Still not time for midnight sun, but we are getting there.
Arctic spring
An hour before midnight. Camera pointing north. Just a few weeks and sun will be up 24 hours
Smoke from the chimney this evening
A new DXCC Challenge point collected. After 34 years :-)
Today it is a bit cold. I make sure the wild animals have something to eat. Today I had a new guest at the "table". He was enjoying some frozen meat. Long time ago I saw a weasel. I have 3 squirrels every day, a pack of nutcrackers and smaller birds.
A bit cold today. The night long so expect a bit colder here.
However, I am sitting barefooted in my radio shack wearing shorts and a tshirt.
The local reindeer enjoy the roads.
First day in 2025 that I have a little energy. Been sick with the flu since monday last year (!)

Well, my son suggested I grow some beard as I have so little om my head (I could have more but I keep it real short)
So I have a moustache now so he cannot say my head looks like an egg :-)
Or was it a 9100E. I think so.
Old pic from 1985-ish of a younger me SM2OTU. You can see a Tono 9000E I used both for RTTY and AMTOR.
I always feed the birds in winter. The colder it is, like when it is minus 25-35C, the faster the seeds disappear. I also give them some leftovers. Last winter, I had a raven, some crows, woodpeckers etc. Oh, and deer, a fox and a badger. I have counted to over 50 birds at the same time.

We are living in exciting times.
Solar maximum is nice. This was the first visible Aurora on the 12th of september. The big storm in spring of 2024 was not visible here as we had too much daylight here at the arctic circle. Now we can see it if not daily, at least very often, if clear skies.
