This is my 3ds game I made in 2022 its called 'Automaton Lung' and has stereoscopic 3D (it is also on Steam in '2D')
3D render in the style of 1990s CG, formatted like a print ad. It depicts MIPS the rabbit looking at the viewer and standing on a supersized computer chip, specifically the r4300i that powered the Nintendo 64. There is text around him reading: "Down the rabbit hole" On the footer is the SiliconGraphics logo and a slogan: "See what's possible"
Identical, but without text.
Updating the camera, added look-ahead! It tilts to show the direction you face. Tracks you sharply on the x/z-plane but lags on the y-plane so jumps don't jerk the cam around. And it'll tilt sharply if you ascend or fall quickly, to show where you'll land!

Cover page for TetraCG, a retro computer graphics package for Blender 5.0. It is made up of several negative greyscale 3D renders in the style of 90s CG, laid out like comic panels.
TetraPHONG A simple, but versatile nodegroup combining diffuse and specular shading with full support for Cycles and EEVEE. The Cycles version of TetraPhong supports anisotropic highlights for surfaces such as metal, hair or satin, and it also supports full, proper raytracing. While the EEVEE version lacks these features, it does include an optional coat for screenspace raytracing. Its diffuse and specular components will also render perfectly fine in Cycles.
TetraGEN A noisy volume nodegroup that aims to replicate PowerAnimator's flashy particles. Particularly useful for fire, smoke or dust FX. Adjust scale, distortion, frequency and emission accordingly. Renders in EEVEE and Cycles.
TetraSKY A world background nodegroup with the express purpose of filling up the void. Use with an environment texture, or generate a sky with various gradient, cloud and star settings at your disposal. Disable diffuse and glossy rays in world properties to prevent unintentional ambient lighting (Cycles only).
Relaunching my retro CG setup as TetraCG: an assortment of nifty nodegroups and render settings to provide an easier entryway into a style that I adore ^^

Hey all- running into some pretty heavy bugs during last-minute playtests (typical) of the Hypnagogia 1ยฝ demo so I'm gonna have to delay release.

If this is where you learned your Bryce trickery then I definitely have to bookmark this for later. Was actually just looking through that pack you released awhile ago and now that I've made some renders I see them in a totally different light now. They're so good

From what I found Bryce 4 is the earliest version that can still be ran on a modern OS without a virtual machine. You can find a download for it on the internet archive!
It takes a bit understanding all the obtuse buttons and interface controls but a LOT of fun once you figure out the main flow of things!
Every one I make is like an instant blast of nostalgia and reminds me of all the games I played back in the day with pre-rendered backgrounds. They would always mesmerize me and make the worlds seem so much more mysterious. I miss them
I downloaded Bryce 4 the other day and have had a blast tinkering with it. It's rly easy to get into and itches this specific part of my brain only this type of 90s CGI can reach. I wish I had known about it back in like highschool because I would've made a million renders with it for diff projects.
